So just caught my cleaner defrauding us

For a while I have been having a odd feeling bins not being emptied and other things didn’t add up but didn’t want to think the worse however dh was not having any we have a door sensor for my teen as we were tired of the disputes over what time he came in at night once we were in bed but don’t usually have it on during the day

Dh put it on today yep cleaner spend 45minutes then left she is paid for 2 hours Confused rand the company and she told her before you say anything they have it all tracked she confessed she being doing this since she started Shock if we didn’t have the sensor we would have never known

We have a Nest camera trained on our front door for security reasons. Our current cleaner is lovely but our old one used to clean for maybe 1.45 to 2 hours instead of the 3 she was paid for, and that’s how we found out!

Genuine question, what if the cleaner had actually done all the cleaning and still went home?

worstmovieever · 05/07/2018 17:49

I employ my mum to clean Grin at least I know she's trustworthy Wink

How can "all the cleaning" ever be done? Surely if they finish the allocated jobs 15 mins early they'd maybe wipe out the fridge or clean some windows? There is ALWAYS something to do.
I know in my own house, even when I've cleaned it to my own satisfactory level.... I'll still be thinking about the ironing or Windows or skirting boards or bleaching the dishcloths (no I'm not OCD far from it!)

I’ve had the same cleaner for ten years who I pay by the hour. I never doubted she worked her hours. A couple of years ago I got a door sensor for security reasons and it shows that my cleaner is never late and never leaves early. Not even by 5 minutes. I have the upmost respect for her.

@Yerroblemom1923 because normally the jobs that need doing are agreed between client and cleaner. It's actually good practice to stick to the list so there's no misunderstandings, things being moved etc. Ironing is extra,as are windows..even if they weren't it's not a 15 minute fill in the time on a whim.
I can just imagine going by some posters on this thread the response if the cleaner suddenly started going through things without being asked to.

Yerroblemom1923 · 05/07/2018 21:04

I hardly think cleaning the inside of the windows is intrusive, RebelRogue, I wasn't suggesting the cleaner start sorting the paper work and bills!
