To expect a parent to pull a 4 year old down after he has climbed onto a grand piano?

Father said to teacher - "well how much does one cost?"

In what universe is it okay to climb onto a musical instrument?

(no special needs, dad was talking to him as he climbed up and crawled across it, both parents put out that he was not allowed to "express himself" in this way).

Oh you are mad

Obviously the bloke is a loon, but "shouldn't be allowed to breed"?

Eh?

A bit of a parenting course perhaps, rather than castration.

Call me a wooly liberal.

GiantSquirrelSpotter · 27/05/2007 16:12

How does one actually climb a grand piano anyway?

What a resourceful child.

@ "Shouldn't be allowed to breed"

Well I mean, can't be doing with it. These kids grow up to be horrors, makes me livid.

Some friends came for the weekend once. First thing their 8 year old son did was climb into middle of dining table and sit, with his bloody shoes on, in full view of parents (who are incidentally v good friends, but oh god, their children...) I ask little toerag to get off table, his mum makes out that I am victimising him as he is "only exploring his environment". My (unsaid) response: Well he can go and explore the environment of our pigstye and garden then.

elesbells · 27/05/2007 17:53

my response would have been 'farquar sweetums get off that farquing piano right now!!'

GiantSquirrelSpotter · 27/05/2007 18:03

LOL, have there actually been any Farquar's registered in any registry offices in the country?

I think we should be told.

duchesse · 27/05/2007 18:10

Yes, but not recently.

elesbells · 27/05/2007 18:10

GiantSquirrelSpotter · 27/05/2007 18:33

elesbells · 27/05/2007 18:35
