He has slightly improved with age but not in a fine wine or a Gary Barlow way.

Gary Linekar has also improved dramatically with age imo the beard and grey hair really suit him .

He is slim, i do like a slender man ( all the men i know tend to carry a bit more timber)

Gareth Southgate seems like a nice, intelligent chap. I remember cringing at his missed penalty years ago and feeling sorry for him, and I'm so pleased that he's been able to lead England team through their greatest success in many years and especially through the penalties last night.

I am emphatically not a beard fan. Is it that there are so many beards around now that I am beginning to see attractive men with beards or are they (cf Gareth’s Southgate) just the rare examples that look good with a beard? DH looks like his dad with a beard

YANBU. He was not an attractive bloke 20 years ago but now? Well now I totally would. He's calm, nice and there's just something about him, but I'm not quite sure what it is!

Mind you, I had a huge crush on Darren Anderton back in 96/98 so I'm not sure what that says about my taste
