To want to make my own decision about what I out on my body in pregnancy

Nearly 30 weeks pregnant got absolutely massive agony haemorrhoids that are stopping me from sleeping from be pressure , went to a pharmacy to get a treatment cream as I was desperate and was told as I’m pregnant I’d need to see GP for a prescription even though I can buy it in any shop off the shelf . Naturally I came home empty handed and have ordered same day delivery on Amazon . I’m getting slightly fed up with feeling like public property in pregnancy , anyone can walk in and buy the cream but my being pregnant meant they would t allow me to ,if I want to drink a bottle of vodka or smoke some heroin or use cream on my arse I will .

Are supermarkets really able to refuse to sell booze and brie etc to pregnant women

No they're not and if someone tried it with me I would be calling management to ask them exactly why they think they have the right to police what I buy. It might not be for me, anyway!

As for the Anusol 4 way not being safe for pregnant ladies, does this also apply to the 3 way? It's not as effective in my experience but it does help.

The doughnut rings/sitting on a toilet ease pain temporarily but make it worse. What helps: drink lots of water, eat lots of fibre or take a fibre drink, lie horizontally when you can and use Preparation H tube lubricant and digitally reduce the hemorrhoids (sorry it’s gross but it works), after bowel movements wipe with witch hazel pad then use suppository...and know that they will go away eventually (at least mostly)

Oh and YABU but you’re pregnant so you’re allowed to be! I met the many “should you be doing/eating that?” comments with a belly laugh followed by an evil stare.

It might be as simple as, as you are pregnant, if you get a prescription from the GP then you would get it for free, vs having to pay for it if you're not pregnant.
