I’d love a babyzen but the £££!!!
Are there any other strollers which go in the overhead locker of a plane?

A friend has one from mothercare that folds. We have the babyzen but got it on sale. Nct occasionally do sales on old stock

Bobbiepin · 30/06/2018 18:07

Look on 2nd hand websites lile schpock.

PalePinkSwan · 30/06/2018 18:09

Recaro easylife

BendingSpoons · 30/06/2018 18:15

There was one called a Pockit when we looked, don't know if it definitely fits. We bought the babyzen and love it Grin but it is our everyday pram (live in the city) so didn't seem too bad value.

gothicsprout · 30/06/2018 18:32

Mothercare XSS (or Pockit - same thing, Mothercare just bought the brand I think).

Doublechocolatetiffin · 30/06/2018 18:37

The city jogger tour is good from 6 months and fits in the overhead lockers. Mountain buggy do a small one now too the nano, which has the option of adding a newborn suitable cot. Both are around £250 new I think.

firstimer30s · 30/06/2018 20:52

Ooh thank you . It’s the overhead locker bit that’s key. Every time we fly, we have a whole debate with the check in staff about whether the buggy can be returned to the door of the plane on landing. And when it’s not... you have a loooong way to carry your baby. Especially at Heathrow.

BendingSpoons, what’s so good about the babyzen?

OP posts:
BendingSpoons · 01/07/2018 09:55

I like it because it is nice to push, it steers well one handed and the handle is nice and high (we are tall). It's also narrow and light so good for navigating the tube etc. Also like being able to take it on as hand luggage and fold it small for the car boot, in restaurants etc. There are some downsides (smallish basket, doesn't lie flat in pushchair mode). However I am comparing it to other bigger prams as it is our everyday one. If it is a holiday one you might have different expectations.

firstimer30s · 01/07/2018 13:31

Thanks! That’s useful. Do you feel baby is supported enough and comfortable? They look quite flimsy/ not much there. But I know people love them

We bought a mamas and papas acro. It’s brilliant. Fits in the overhead locker, lies almost flat, huge hood, swivel bumper bar. We got it for £99 in the sale. It copes with grass and cobbles fine.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 01/07/2018 13:34

We have an ickle bubba aurora. It looks very like the babyzen and folds almost as small. It's a UK company so, apart from the dreadful name, its reliable. We got ours as a factory second on ebay for 60quid. It's a good travelling buggy, but we also have a BJCM for going on rougher terrain.

Still in the sale!

Lentilbaby · 01/07/2018 13:44

Has anyone used the Cybex eesy stroller? I'm looking for a stroller for holiday and also to use around town.
Sorry for hijacking OP Thanks

Picklepickle123 · 01/07/2018 13:49

Depending on how old your baby is, have you thought of the mountain bigger bagrider? It's not a buggy, but is so much quicker in the airport! We checked in our maclaren and then nipped round Heathrow with the mountain buggy - a big hit with DS as there's far more visibility! It also means there's no waiting around because you simply pick up your buggy with your luggage at the other end. The storage is fab for a spare set of clothes, nappies, and some toys to keep them occupied on the flight.

Hi, I have a baby zen YO-YO, it is great. But we use it for every day use, and if I was going to buy it specifically for just travelling/holidays I wouldn’t buy as it is pricey, I think there is some alternatives such as the mothercare pockit stroller, the GB pockit stroller and also the Acro compact by mamas&papas. Also to answer your above question, the baby zen YoYo is pretty comfortable for my son, but your right that it is not perfect for very long trips as he gets abit restless and uncomfortable when he is tired as the seat does not fully recline, as with a regular pushchair would, so it is not the greatest for sleeping.

BeijingBarbie · 01/07/2018 14:55

We bought a yo-yo for travel and it is amazing. Much sturdier than the other hand luggage sized ones.

Bullieseverywhere · 01/07/2018 15:01

Babyzen is expensive but I think it’s worth it. We’ve used ours almost daily for nearly 3 years and it’s still as good as new. I also like that it reclines well to allow my little one to sleep whereas other models such as the GB Pockit don’t. Plus, I find the basket holds quite a bit when it need it to. We never intended to use it for our every day pram when we bought it but my daughter always preferred it to her silver cross pushchair.

SuperDuperJezebel · 01/07/2018 15:09

I'm eyeing up the baby jogger city tour, it's circa £180 on Amazon. We have the city mini GT as our main pushchair and I love it.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 01/07/2018 15:37

We use a city tour as our everyday pushchair for my just turned 2 year old. I really like it - haven't flown with it but it does fold up very small. It's also very easy to fold.

Mouikey · 01/07/2018 16:26

Check the dimensions against the airline you use most often. Officially the baby zen is slightly larger than permitted hand luggage on some airlines, but we have never had a problem.

It’s definitely sturdier than others on the market. We bought it for travel but use it a lot out and about because it’s easier than my massive jane trider!
