Fucking post office account

I was left in debt after ExH left and so only have a basic bank account because of poor credit.

I opened a post office savings account to put aside for Christmas.

I've gone overdrawn today so wanted to transfer £30 to my bank to cover that and the weekend (kids wanted to go swimming and I need basics)

I logged on and put the wrong pin in because I forgot they sent me a new one.

I realised this but it still wouldn't work.

So I called them and it's locked.

The only way to get a new pin is posting it which takes 3-5 working days

I asked if he could transfer the money to my bank over the phone and he said he could...if I had the correct pin

I told him I now have the correct pin

But he said no, that's now broke. The new one will be with you within 5 working days.

I tried after to open a saver account with my bank because they can do more over the phone but they said no straight away because I only have a basic account.

I'm sorry. I'm just ranting. I'm stuck now, overdrawn till Tuesday with no cash for weekend.

I'm sick to death of living like this

Nokids- that’s odd because I’ve heard different. On my credit file there is a separate section for short term loans in which they all used to lurk until this year when they dropped off (bitter experience). In many mortgage forums etc people say it’s been cited as a reason for refusal etc too. So I’ve found different? So confusing!

I tried to get a wonga loan months ago, I was going to repay it 3 days later in full.
It was declined Blush

Don’t pay your savings over! It would be a drop in the ocean for them but could make a big difference to you in an emergency. You’re sounding like you’re stable, which is amazing. You’re on the way up, well done.

Again it won't help today, but have you tried step change to help with your debt ? I eventually had to and I can honestly say it changed my life. No more worrying about debt collection letters etc. It took me far too long to admit I needed help and I got further into debt whilst burying my head in the sand.

I have been in contact with step change after ExH left, they helped me get the £1 payments in place but I've not really followed up.

It's something I'm going to do, I'm in a bit of limbo with a money issue right now so once that's settled and I can give them a concrete ingoing/outgoing spreadsheet I will 100% contact them

I owe money too but I don't worry about it much.
If there was a massive system crash and all computer systems failed permanently we'd all be in the same boat.
