birthday cards for 1 year old's are stupid?

Do people with more than one child make them? I can't help but think it must be a PFB thing. 12 month olds aren't sitting there waiting for their birthday card on cbeebies are they? though if they are, the kid probably needs to watch less TV

Sometimes they say that an older child has helped make the card.

TheOriginalEmu · 28/06/2018 13:05

oh, but @puddlesofbud, without birthdays, how would i have found the delights of the child named feebee??

(good username btw...)

Amanduh · 28/06/2018 13:07

Well 12 month olds aren’t really sitting waiting for anything. People still buy them cards and presents though. I think it’s a nice momento.

PuddlesOfBud · 28/06/2018 13:11

Feebee of Ceebeebies.

Say it 10 times fast.

Why is it bothering you?

It makes the parent happy and that's that!

I did one for my 2 and 4 year old. Both got shown.

The 2 year old didn't really care but the 4 year old was chuffed to see both hers and her brothers face on tv

Soubriquet · 28/06/2018 13:16

Omg was there seriously a child named Feebee?! ShockShock

NoProbLlama78 · 28/06/2018 13:19

My DD is getting interested in the cards now so i was considering doing one for her 3rd birthday but do they tell you if/when it will be shown?

Soubriquet · 28/06/2018 13:28

No they don't

I set up sky record for around the times they show them and just had my fingers crossed

Dd's was shown around 6.30 whilst Ds's was around 12.30

I have sent in a video clip before of dd doing the go jetters boogie and I did receive an email telling me when it would be shown

I might send one in dancing next time they do that. She joins in with the other kids it would blow her mind to join in with herself Grin

It doesn't bother me, I think it's pointless. There's a difference Wink

But if it's actually for grown up adults to watch their pictures on cebeebies then fair enough. Hmm Grin I thought children's TV was something to be endured rather than to be enjoyed by the adult

Soubriquet · 28/06/2018 15:39

I dunno some of those programs are quite enjoyable hey duggee BlushGrin

FlyingDandelionSeed · 28/06/2018 15:59

Do people with more than one child make them?

I'm going to assume so, because no adult would even know that the birthday cards were a thing unless they had a kid old enough to be watching.

OwlBeThere · 29/06/2018 18:33

@soubriquet.........there was indeed! it was years back now, but it's always stuck with me.

NewtScamandersNaughtyNiffler · 29/06/2018 18:38

My now ex sil implied that I was a bad mum for never making cards to send in to CBeebies Hmm
My children seem to be fine with the neglect Grin

Mari50 · 29/06/2018 18:39

Quite obviously it’s for the parents and has nowt to do with the children getting excited. It’s like birthday parties for one year olds, they’re for the parents too, a celebration for getting through it all.

2up2manydown · 29/06/2018 18:42

I always assumed those cards were for toddlers who are parked in front of the tv all day and are bound to see them.

I didn’t realise they tell you when to tune in.
