Seething! DD ignored by hoops teacher

After seeing The Greatest Showman, DD (10) wanted to start doing aerial hoops. We found a local class and the first few weeks were great.
Due to work commitments I haven't been able to take her so my mum has taken her the last two weeks.
There are never more than 6 in the class.
Apparently, the last two weeks, the teacher has spent practically the whole hour simpering and flirting with the father of one of the little girls, and giving her far more help and attention.
DD loves going but has come home disappointed tonight. She didn't get any help or encouragement. Can't help but think this is how it's going to continue. Any advice?

My advice would be go and observe a class, if you can't get a friend or family member (someone presumably takes her?) to sit in. It might be happening, or it might be teaching style. Aerial isn't taught like dancing for example, where you teach everyone the same thing but some will take to it more naturally than others. You need to teach it in different ways to different students, and quite frankly it requires masses of strength and concentration, there's no telling who has it, but some students get given fairly basic conditioning moves for weeks or months to build up to be able to progress. Equally some students may struggle for a while and have a breakthrough week. The reason classes are so small is you can only teach to small groups because you either split them into small groups of 'beginners/building up' and 'developing' or you demo something and let them find their own way and come to you if they don't get it.
