AIBU to want to go to a walk in...

High temp over the last three days, ranging between 37 - 38.5, throat like cut glass and now a red bumpy rash on both arms, face and neck.
I'm in my 30's and otherwise healthy, but am breastfeeding my 3 month old so that's adding to my worry.

I know AIBU isn't a doctor, but I'm staying with someone who is instistant that I'm fine and just need rest. I feel fucking awful.

Why not make an appointment with your doctor?

I think you need to see someone.

Quartz2208 · 27/06/2018 07:41

You should go it could be scarlet fever

toolonglurking · 27/06/2018 07:42

Oh sorry, I meant to say I'm away from home staying with inlaws

Definitely go see someone at a walk in then.

endofthelinefinally · 27/06/2018 07:48

Ring 111.
You may be infectious and they can sort out an appointment away from other sick people.
Also, the in laws might take notice of professional advice.
Sorry you are feeling so ill.

Thank you. Inlaw is making me feel like I'm being ridiculous, I'm not usually so weak minded.
Am calling NHS 24 now, see what they say.

I wouldn't even discuss it with in laws, why is it their business? If you feel you need to go to a walk in then go.

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 27/06/2018 08:02

definatley go see someone, I would ring NHS 24 and see what they say. Hope your ok

Tell your in laws to wind their necks in. You are obviously sick, and not only that you are breastfeeding which is hard enough without feeling like death warmed up.

Are they usually this horrible?

LeighaJ · 27/06/2018 08:09

Ignore your in-laws and follow your instincts.

sexnotgender · 27/06/2018 18:23

Did you go to the doctor?

FocusOnMePlease · 27/06/2018 18:36

Are your eyes sensitive? It could be measles.

Katescurios · 27/06/2018 18:38

Does the rash feel rough like sandpaper or like little bumps.

If sandpaper then scarlet fever is a possibility

A pharmacist might be someone to ask?

NorthenderNamechanger · 27/06/2018 19:12

Does sound like it could be scarlet fever. If it is, you need 10 days of antibiotics. It won't go by itself, is contagious, can cause complications if untreated, and is just bloody unpleasant.

Walk in centres can prescribe first line antibiotics, so if you're near one, go.

Feel better soon! FlowersBrew
