To ask you to please pick up your dogs shit?

I am so fed up of lazy arse dog owners pretending they don’t notice when their dog takes a dump and leaving it lying.
It’s not difficult to bag it and bin it. It’s absolutely foul. I live next to playing fields and they are stinking of dog shit in this heat. When they cut the grass.. it spreads and stinks. The kids walk through the fields to the playpark and it ends up on the equipment. So I have to avoid my local park.
I went for a nice walk to a different area yesterday and ended up with shit on my pram wheels. I spent ten minutes scraping it off and ended up rolling over ANOTHER one with my front wheel and had nothing to get it off with. I live in a flat and don’t have a hose or anything so getting it properly cleaned off is going to be a pain in the arse.

My son last week went out with his favourite shoes on and came back with shit up the side and on his leg and hadn’t noticed.
I despair.

I see the occasional person pick up but a lot leave it behind. Why?! Does it smell too bad? Well then don’t have a dog.

YANBU!

I'd also add if you're in the train station (Waterloo) and your dog pisses on the floor... wipe it up!!! It's just as bad a shit!

Nasty!

shiklah · 26/06/2018 22:37

The absolute worst is when utter dicks pick it up, tie it in a bag, then tie it to a fucking tree!!! My local park has 2 dog shit trees. Fuck you ass-hole dog owners, fuck you.

Crunchymum · 26/06/2018 22:37

In my experience, the people who leave dog shit on the pavement (I'm central London) aren't the sort of people you can reason with.

Cutyourshakehole · 26/06/2018 22:46

Yes we have a lot of the lobbed bags of shit aswell. Which is even worse. You’ve gone to the hassle of picking it up.... to throw it? I’ve had a few nasty comments when reminding people to pick up too.

Yes. Someone must have moved to our area a few weeks ago as suddenly bags of dog poo are appearing every few yards along the street. Utterly disgusting. And why just leave it there when you've done the hard bit of actually picking it up?

themagicamulet · 26/06/2018 23:00

(And YANBU!)

MisstoMrs · 26/06/2018 23:01

We have two sets of people who don’t pick it up near us - people who let their dogs off the lead then ignore them so they can legitimately claim not to have seen the poo, thinking this absolves them of responsibility, and adults who let teenage children walk the dog(s) when it is clear they are not going to pick up a bag of warm poo when trying to look cool in front of their boyfriend / girlfriend / friends etc. I’ve stopped both and been told to F* off. It may be a cliche but I genuinely clean up after our dog every time. Yes it’s not a fun job but it’s part of the package - you wouldn’t leave a baby in a soiled nappy because changing it wasn’t going to be much of a giggle 🤦‍♀️

NuffingChora · 26/06/2018 23:05

Oh God, I so agree. On the 1 in a 100 walk where it seems like my dog hasn't pooed (I assume because he's gone so deep in to the bushes that I haven't a hope of seeing him - and I do A LOT of scrambling through ferns and trees to get to cross-country poos!) I go into an immediate flap and look for two other poos to pick up left by the vile reprobates who also walk their dogs in the woods. Unfortunately there's usually plenty of choice...

MrsSquiggler · 26/06/2018 23:13

The poo that's bagged but not binned is the worst. I don't understand it either. It's worse than not picking it up at all, because the bags don't degrade so the poo parcels stay there indefinitely. Grr!

Failingat40 · 26/06/2018 23:14

Yes I agree it is disgusting and people absolutely should pick up after their pets. I don't understand why they don't.

The worst offenders in my area are actually elderly people. Whether it's down to poor mobility or they are perhaps from a generation where poo bags were unheard of? I watched a well dressed woman in her 70's flick her dogs shit under leaves with a stick rather than pick it up Hmm

The other worst offenders are teenagers/kids left to take the dog out who don't take or aren't told to take bags to pick up the poo and even if they did they wouldn't know how to without making a mess.

Itchytights · 26/06/2018 23:18

Dirty filthy selfish fucking bastards.

That’s what they are.

I have lost count the amount of times my children have trodden in it, only to discover what’s happened in the car by the fucking disgusting smell.

Dirty bastards.

It makes me rage. Wankers AngryAngryAngry

Failingat40 · 26/06/2018 23:19

Oh and as for the people who believe that morally they have completed their obligation as an owner by picking up the dog poo, by then throwing the bagged poo away into a tree/bush/field whatever it doesn't degrade and if eaten by horses/cows actually kills them!

I've heard of a few cases where both horses and a calf were killed and poo bags were found to be the cause during autopsy.

There definitely has to be an increased penalty for that.

WTFsMyUserName · 26/06/2018 23:22

I live very close to one of the entrances of the local park and, like you OP i'm constantly having to clean poo off the pushchair wheels, children's scooter wheels and shoes 😭. But what really annoys me is when I find people have been dumping their bagged up dog poo in my front garden or worse still, in my wheelie bin which only gets collected fortnightly 😷

Slartybartfast · 27/06/2018 07:10

at a woods near me, there are no poo bins, and there are signs saying flick with a stick! Shock
