Any good moisturiser recs? The itching is getting on my nerves but it’s a sensitive area so don’t want to make it worse. It’s quite dry I feel the dry patch quite clearly and it’s quite rough. Thanks

Whack it with something plain like E45 for a few days but if it worsens or looks like a rash get the GP to have a quick look.

Pibplob · 25/06/2018 19:21

Thanks. Will get some tomorrow. It’s been itching for a few months but now the dry rough patch has appeared I’m hoping some moisturiser will get everything back to normal.

I don't want to worry you, but I think you need to make an appointment to see your GP to get that checked.

kaytee87 · 25/06/2018 19:25

Get it checked out.
Lanisoh nipple cream might help or aveeno cream is pretty good.

MrsEricBana · 25/06/2018 19:26

If it's been itching for a few months I'd get the GP to look. My sister had this and GP did a proper breast exam then gave steroid cream for 4 weeks and instructions to go back if it worsens or doesn't go. I think def do that as you've had it a while.

Pibplob · 25/06/2018 19:29

Ok thanks I will make an appointment then. Did your sisters go with the steroid cream?

As pp has said - not wishing to worry you but...You do need to get to the doctor asap since whilst this could be a minor skin irritation it also needs investigating since it could indicate breast cancer. I had similar investigated last month and they will check you very quickly if you explain the issue. I rang up, explained the issue and was down at the surgery in front of a doctor 15 minutes later!

Pibplob · 25/06/2018 19:42

Wow. Ok I just thought I had a bit of dry skin. Fingers crossed that’s all it is. Was that all yours was cloud tree?

I’ve just googled and pagetssyndrome comes up. Now I’m worried.

OP posts:
DuchyDuke · 25/06/2018 20:01

Paget syndrome, inflammatory breast cancer, it can all appear the same way. See a GP asap

ItchyBitchFace · 25/06/2018 20:14

It could be nipple eczema but it could also be Pagets disease of the nipple. Try not to worry but also do see your GP so it can be ruled out

cloudtree · 25/06/2018 20:15

Mine is benign but still being observed.

Redrosebelle · 25/06/2018 20:17

Pagers is REALLY rare, so whilst it’s a good idea to get the Gp to look it’s highly highly likely you have a patch of eczema or a fungal infection x

Pibplob · 25/06/2018 20:30

Thanks red rose. I’m a bit panicky now. Especially as I’ve just started a new job and can’t see when I can get away for an appointment. Will bookmone though. I will now google eczema of the breast and fungal infections to try and reassure myself.

Please see your GP asap. Sudden onset of skin changes/itching on a nipple can be a sign of Pagets Disease of the nipple .

Redrosebelle · 25/06/2018 20:36

Stay away from google all together! Paget’s disease or inflammatory breast cancer is really rare, I’ve had dry scaly skin on my nipple many times over the years and have even had it scanned. I have to use hydrocortisone and even then it can still flare up. It’s a sweaty area constantly covered by material (bra) so please don’t panic! By all mean staff go and see the Gp to put your mind at rest, perhaps he’ll prescribe some steroid cream but there’s really no need to assume it’s anything sinister Flowers

Pibplob · 25/06/2018 20:42

Thank you red rose. I have had a google and am feeling reassured. Looks like the symptoms of pagets (how do you say that? Paj ets? Sounding out the t?) and eczema are the same so I will make an appointment but chances are it’s more likely to be eczema. Still a bit panicky but feel a bit happier and reassured now.

Yeah, I've had itchy rashes there. Did not Google (never fucking Google) but went to GP and it actually went away with moisturiser and I think a bit of steroid cream in the end - although it was the really good moisturiser that we use for dc's eczema.

It's very likely the hot weather, no air combo. Do not use e45. Is shit for eczema.

rosesandflowers1 · 25/06/2018 21:19

Don't panic! My advice with this sort of thing is never Google it Grin

Go get it checked out maybe, but I get this fairly frequently because I have eczema. Sudocrem works wonders.

rosesandflowers1 · 25/06/2018 21:22

Just dab a blob over the affected area. Don't wipe it off, Sudocrem gets kind of absorbed by the skin.

Often I put it on overnight and when I wake up again it's completely back to normal. I don't often use Sudocrem for eczema elsewhere, but it works great on the nipples.

DramaAlpaca · 25/06/2018 21:47

I typed out a post along the lines of what Redrose said but my stupid phone deleted it instead of posting it.

I had the same symptoms as you & got checked out, including having a nipple biopsy which ruled out Paget's which I was told is really rare. A course of steroid cream sorted it out, and when it occasionally flares up again Sudocrem is good as a pp says.

So don't panic but do get it checked.

APMom · 25/06/2018 21:51

Get it checked ASAP. Me and my dd thought she might have Paget’s, ever the GP thought it. She saw breast doctors, had a mammogram etc and it was all clear. They said it was from her birth control. I’ve also seen another breast that looked like pagets and referred the woman to her GP, she had severe excema.

MrsEricBana · 25/06/2018 22:01

Sorry OP, yes itching went and mark did not worsen at all but hasn't gone so she may need to go back. No other worrying symptoms. I say don't worry but get on with cream and book a GP appointment for when you can. Hope it resolves soon.

Pibplob · 26/06/2018 08:04

Can’t get an appointment this morning so will try and ring later to eat an afternoon one! Thanks for all the responses!
