AIBU to think there are no nice looking walking sandals?!

I’ve got a weekend away coming up next month which will involve a fair bit of hiking. Wanted to invest in some comfy walking sandals but cannot find any that don’t look hideous and clumpy.
Am i right in thinking there is no such thing as lovely walking sandals?
I have salt waters and I know lots of people think they’re ugly - so I’m not against a bit of granny retro sandal but am not a fan of the velcro strap variety that I keep coming across.
Maybe I should go away and invent some!

I like my Keen sandals - and have done some lengthy walks in them.

I like the look of the Teva sandals

Echo pp. My best friend has a pair of fairly attractive tevas that have lasted YEARS.

Just bought my second pair of Teva Tirras - the first ones lasted ages even though I walk about six miles a day in them. They are very comfortable and supportive.

Where are you hiking?
You'd be much better off with a hiking shoe than sandals. They are safer.
If it's just normal walking on normal paths then some of the suggestions you have had above are good.

I’ve got some Keen closed toe ones. They might not be pretty but if you’re doing proper hiking you need proper hiking sandals. I can happily walk up mountains in mine.

Go for something that lasts. My Merrells are just starting to fall apart and I’ve been wearing them for 12 years! I’ve walked miles both in the countryside and cities, been in lakes, the sea... and I still think that I’ll be able to eke them through this summer.
These are Velcro strap variety so don’t write them off completely.
