To be so depressed at how my life is

37. 38 in October.

No kids.

No partner.

The no partner thing is more complex than just meeting someone on plentyoffish. I’ve never had a partner. I just don’t seem to get any interest.

All my friends are married and have small children.

I’m stressed up to my eyeballs in work and am so unhappy.

No family.

I feel I aren’t anything to live for.

How are you today? x How was work?

I would plan for a huge change and I'd spend a few months preparing for it.

Where would you like to go to best? Which country really appeals to you?

As a PP said, use the time to get yourself as fit as you can. You want to start that new phase of your life in peak shape.

Do you have a mortgage or do you rent? Do you have any family you're bothered about?

See it as an adventure - a kind of gap year. It could be incredibly exciting.

Felt the same here- 42 in a couple of weeks, history of poor relationships and serious mental illness. Put on loads of weight with meds. I just gave up caring how I looked. Dislike old, it seems the world is set up for couples and families. Friends can be pretty self absorbed. Biggest change I’ve made is starting to look after myself better and actually getting out and doing stuff even if it means doing it alone- travelling, days out etc

I hope she's ok. Just needs to look after her wellbeing and no worry about everything easier said than done I know.
