DH has announced that the house will stay like this while England remain in the tournament.

Edit - how do you post pics?

My fucking house is covered in England flags. I. Am. Fucking. Fuming

I'd be mortified and would take them down. How embarrassing.

Nikephorus · 25/06/2018 17:23

It's only a few days! After they've been thrashed by Belgium in their last group game, & then knocked out by whoever, he'll be needing to take them down to dry his tears with Grin

Bigfathairyones · 25/06/2018 17:23

Wow!!! I’d be mortified.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 25/06/2018 17:24

When Ireland last did well in the World Cup in 1990, everyone I knew had flags up all over the place. It was great fun, we all had the time of our lives. Didn't leave me with any lasting interest in sport, mind you, but it was a great community-builder.

martapolska · 25/06/2018 17:27

I'm not English I'm Polish national. But England is now my home for me and my family.

CheshireChat · 25/06/2018 17:30

I don't like it, but I go crazy for Halloween (twice!) so in my case I'd put up with it

Gingertam · 25/06/2018 17:31

I hate football, but the flags on houses and cars always makes me smile. Nice to see people getting in the spirit. I know it's bit chavvy but let him keep his flags. It'll be over soon.

pinkyredrose · 25/06/2018 17:31

English flags in England, who'd have thought.

ReservoirDogs · 25/06/2018 17:32

No its all good fun! Enjoy the euphoria while we can!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/06/2018 17:32

It’s great, I admire him 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

LegoBitcho · 25/06/2018 17:34

Looks chavy alright. One, maybe not really, but that many 👎

martapolska · 25/06/2018 17:35

The flags will be removed tomorrow when he go to a work. It's my house to!

OP posts:
LastOneDancing · 25/06/2018 17:35

Has he got those little flags on the car too? They're the worst.

I'm with you OP. I'd hate that!

SoddingUnicorns · 25/06/2018 17:36

Aye I wouldn’t be amused if I came home and there were saltires plastered all over our house (we’re Scottish so they wouldn’t be St. George’s flags).

mydogisthebest · 25/06/2018 17:39

It's only for a short time so I don't see the harm.

I absolutely detest football but I quite like seeing the flags on houses and cars. I put a flag in my bedroom window when the Olympics were on

TwitterQueen1 · 25/06/2018 17:42

But you still haven't said what the problem is OP. Put some Polish flags up as well if you want fair representation. Otherwise I don't see the issue.... It's the World Cup. There's nothing wrong with a bit of national pride.

Willow2017 · 25/06/2018 17:43

Surely one is enough to point out the obvious?
Thats over egging the pudding a lot!

percheron67 · 25/06/2018 17:43

Hopefully, he hasn't put any on the car. Flapping flags can terrify horses and cause them to bolt or shy into traffic. People often don't know this can be fatal to both horse and rider. I do sympathise with your predicament though!

mzsink · 25/06/2018 17:44

Yes Marta I'm with you, take them down tomorrow. One would be (bad enough) ok, but covering your house like that is ridiculous

Wolfiefan · 25/06/2018 17:47

Someone shared on FB a "very important government announcement". Apparently they're very concerned about the increasing number of men with very small penises. They have asked all small penised men to put the England flag on their car to enable them to assess the extent of the problem.
Find that and show him. Grin

Mummymummums · 25/06/2018 17:48

I put one up in our window. Only one up our cul de sac. There goes the neighbourhood GrinGrinGrin

birdonawire1 · 25/06/2018 17:53

Don’t see a problem?

JessicaJonesJacket · 25/06/2018 17:57

Have they been up for 4 years? Because the pic looks like the one that cost Emily Thornberry her shadow cabinet post.

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/06/2018 17:57

That’s not fair especially if you’re a different nationality. My dh is as well - ok he has British citizenship now but still he was born and grew up abroad. One flag from each country fair enough if you both want a flag. But this is disrespectful to you. Can he not see that?

MsMcMurphy · 25/06/2018 18:01

Ah no, don't be a killjoy! Embrace his enthusiasm; why make it a bone of contention, believe me, they'll be gone and forgotten in no time.
