They had one ict meltdown a month ago and now their systems are down again....
A month ago I was put on hold for an hour before anyone answered.aggggggrrrrr!
If you go into the bank the queues are huge due to ICT meltdowns.

I don't bank with them but I think yanbu. I kept hearing it on the news and thinking how awful it wold be for the customers. Move banks. I've had no trouble with barclays.

ShottaSheriff · 22/06/2018 05:38

Even if you’re not that annoyed it’s usually worth moving bank as there are free money offers to be had if you switch current accounts. I’ve done it a few times in the last few years!

Hamiltoes · 22/06/2018 05:56

Payday morning for a large proportion of the country and they take online banking down Angry I'm thinking of moving too, been with them since I was 10!

ButDoYouAvocado · 22/06/2018 06:26

I got fed up and switched. Zero problems since. Just do it, the switching process takes 7 days and i found it seamless.

Summerisdone · 22/06/2018 06:36

YANBU, just don't switch to NatWest or RBS though, they have problems with their systems in one way or another it's bloody ridiculous

outofmydepth45 · 22/06/2018 06:38

Lloyds have no staff, branches closing and any meeting is always 2 hours so avoid them too

Undercoverbanana · 22/06/2018 06:43

Switching is so easy. I switch regularly and make ££££ cashback. One year I switched loads of products and made over a grand in cash backs.

I am with TSB at the mo and when the dust settles over this shitstorm I shall be off again. I’m just hanging around to see if they are going to pay any compensation to customers. Also, the other banks will know loads of TSB customers are fed up and will start to offer great deals for them to switch.

Undercoverbanana · 22/06/2018 06:45

Meant to say - The best I’ve ever used was First Direct.

I actually contacted them saying I was switching away from them to make some money and would they consider matching the other bank’s cashback to keep me. They couldn’t - but it was worth a try. They were the best by far.

Sparklesanddiamomdsforever · 22/06/2018 06:47

I'm with TSB and my bank account has been subject to fraud twice within 1 month, leaving me with no money. They have taken hours to answer their phones, and I'm still unable to access my online banking Angry

bubbles108 · 22/06/2018 06:55

And the staff at their customer care centre are so rude - although branch staff are lovely.

I'm disgusted with the TSB

Waiting for my compensation which should arrive by Easter, I imagine (twats !) and then I'm gone.

hannah1992 · 22/06/2018 06:59

I used to be with TSB. I had a fraud on my account called up explained that this fraud had taken every penny out of my account so no I could not wait 3-5 days for it to go back in. They told me to go to branch. So I went to branch where a woman said “oh there’s nothing we can do” so by this time I was fuming and said I wanted the manager. “Sorry they’re not available at the moment” so I sat down and told them I wasn’t moving until I saw one. Dd1 was only a toddler in the pushchair and after 10 mins was getting fed up. They soon fetched one when there was a screaming child and realised I wasn’t moving regardless.

I got my money straight back and then switched accounts

lornathewizzard · 22/06/2018 07:05

As PP said it is worth switching anyway, even without all this TSB nonsense. Lots of incentives to switch, check out money saving expert

PattiStanger · 22/06/2018 07:06

Everyone is free to move banks whenever they want and for whatever reason - it's not like a hairdresser that you need to hide from when you go into town Smile

Move on, don't give it another thought

Scoogle · 22/06/2018 07:12

I'm with TSB. I've been shocked at the absolute mess they've created. I could just about deal with not being able to access my account online for two weeks. It's more when the mix up caused them to generate letters to us telling us all direct debits had failed. Cue two hours on the phone to them to confirm that letter wasn't for us. Oh and the three duplicate payments which weren't actually there.

I work in conveyancing and it also has messed up a lot of people's mortgages. We are in the process of moving banks too!

malificent7 · 22/06/2018 07:23

I wonder if they will have any customers left at this rate. Is it worth even waiting for compensation?
Gotta love banks.

Ive already switched after their last shit show. Tbh there’s no point waiting for compensation as too many people were affected you wont get much anyway.

As far as I can see all they are offering is an increased interest rate for customers with a “paid for” account

Nationwide are good so far and if you can find a friend already with them, you can each get £100 for making the switch

Landed · 24/06/2018 21:09

My branch staff are rude, show lack of concern about the fault being theirs and offer no reassurance that they are trying to sort out the mess they have caused. I'm absolutely fuming every single step of the way is frustrating by their inaction or getting things wrong. It's like they are deaf and unable to read. I'm doing the running and they are simply not listening and acting in a responsible manner. When it's sorted all family members are thinking probably best to move as they are showing no concern for the time and energy I'm having to take to get them to sort out the mess they caused.

mummyflood · 24/06/2018 21:37

same experience as pp with the branch. Almost a victim of fraud last week..online banking asked to reset p/w and memorable info by phone, automated line started asking for account number, then d.o.b. then last 3 digits on back of card...must have been either a fraudulent website set up to look identical to the real one or the line had been hacked. Reported to branch, not particularly interested tbh. Moving accounts next week, family members have already done so. No trust left or faith in customer service.

mummyflood · 24/06/2018 21:39

And I have read it can take 2 or 3 hours to get through to someone on the fraud line, I gave up after 20 minutes...says it all!! Angry

Falaffels · 24/06/2018 21:42

Of course you should move! If you had service that bad in a shop or a restaurant, you'd stop frequenting it. But for some reason people stick with their banks for years.

I've always had good service from bog standard HSBC, but I'm eyeing up Monzo.

bubbles108 · 25/06/2018 11:35

Monzo? I'm going to google. Never heard of it!

PolkerrisBeach · 25/06/2018 12:11

Switching is a lot easier than it used to be. Vote with your feet.
