Blood poisoning?

DS (12) has got what I think is a boil near his spine. It was getting better but has suddenly got much larger and now has what I think is a tracking line from it around his torso. Picture is attached. Am I being paranoid or should i take him to the doctor. He seems ok in himself but his back is very sore and he says it hurts where the rash is. Not sure if I'm over reacting or not?

Mum intuition rarely fails! Hope he is ok.

All sorted. He's got an abscess. Doctor isn't too worried about the tracking, just have to keep an eye on that. He has a high dose of antibiotics but will be fine. Phew!

Glad he’s been seen and it’s nothing too serious! Hope he feels better soon
