To be stressing it might rain - a wedding one!

So, wedding is coming up in the next few weeks and it’s pretty weather dependant!
We do have a plan b if it rains but I’m just worried it’s going to ruin the day :(

Did it rain on your wedding day or big event?
How did you cope?

For background - I’m in the UK, literally hate the rain and would have done a destination wedding but too many old relatives and newborns to make that fair on anyone :)

The day of my wedding started off gloriously sunny but by the time of the reception it was cold and threatening to rain - by the time we left the venue at about 1am it was sleeting! It was still the best day of my life.

So you booked a weather dependent wedding in the U.K. and you hate the rain..... 👀👀. 😅

Perhaps that wasn’t the best idea.

However I wouldn’t worry about the weather. It will be what it will be and it doesn’t mean it will ruin the day at all. My brother got married during a thunder storm and it was amazing. The photos were brilliant.

Pissed it down on ours. It didn’t bother me as my new husband woke up with food poisoning and spent the day puking and passing out, so that seemed a bit more important Grin In between faint no.1 and faint no.2 (after which I sent him to bed) we got some nice pictures of reflections in puddles etc. It rained on and off during my friend’s wedding day and she has some gorgeous pictures of her and her husband splashing about in bright wellies and an umbrella with her dress hitched up.

I hope you have a wonderful day regardless Smile

Rained on and off all day for our wedding! There was a thunderstorm as we said our vows Grin We travelled in a soft top car too. We mostly stayed dry but the driver did eat soaked. The car we’d hired for the bridesmaids had some white golf umbrellas so we still got outside photos which actually look fantastic. One of the things everyone remembers from our wedding was getting an aerial photo of al the guests when the heavens opened - we had three photos a few seconds apart and you can see the realisation spread across faces and people running for cover! Honestly, it wasn’t quite what we’d expected but it was great anyway and we got a photo of us with a rainbow in the background. Smile
