The Greatest Showman is one of the best films I've seen in ages ?

I'd seen the odd trailer when this was released and thought it looked ok so it was on my radar but was never motivated to watch it . My sister absolutely raved about it so this weekend we had a rare day all four of us home with no plans so we watched it.
Have to say we all loved it (from 6year old boy to 9 year old girl and both parents including dh who typically falls asleep). Usually i sit and Mumsnet during kids movies but we all watched this all the way. We’ve played the songs all weekend and talked about how great it was a few times!

The cinematography, dancing , singing is all beautiful but I also loved the positive message about being yourself and the “this is me” song has me listening over and over

Another piano and singing teacher here so I’m slowing becoming a bit jaded with it but think it’s great overall. Good songs, great dance numbers and just a bit of fun for an hour or two- nothing like the real story, though.

I play the soundtrack at top volume in my car on the way home after a tough day at work and sing along VERY loudly and VERY out of tune! I'm fine by the time I get home!

It's just a film to enjoy and song along to.

Aww, yes, sing along to songs about a white man enslaving people and expecting them to be grateful. It’s the feel-good film of the summer!

I lasted about 15 minutes before switching it off. Even less for Mama Mia and watched that LaLa film on fast forward.

User X i can see we won't agree. I just see it as an entertainment piece not a moral compass. Smile

User x it's a film it's largely fictionalised a lot of people enjoyed do it take your self righteousness and piss off

The dancing and choreography were superb, if you allow for the speeding up/slowing down of actual routines

The mixing of moden day customs with 19th C ones is fab in the bar scene
