Just that really. My trusty 10 year old Dyson has just blown up. Smells of burning. So I think it's dead Sad.
Another Dyson or something different? We have fluffy cats.... the downstairs is mostly tile/floorboards carpets upstairs.

Don’t be tempted by a cordless Dyson. We have a V6 and it is terrible in so many ways yet cost over 300 quid. One of the worst purchases ever. The v8 has longer charge but I’d still not risk it. Miele plug in are meant to be the best, wish I’d got one.

It's not a popular opinion on here but I love my Henry because he has a long lead and a big head so I can do the whole of each floor without having to move plug socket and he's quick.

EeeByeGummieBear · 19/06/2018 16:34

Just got a GTech. Best one I've ever had- including Dotson

Charmatt · 19/06/2018 16:40

I love my iRobot Roomba. We live in a bungalow so it's great. It even plays a short tune to tell you it's finished!

SluttyButty · 19/06/2018 16:41

DYSON V10, DYSON V10, DYSON V10, DYSON V10

Can you tell how much I love it 😂

Gruffalosgrandma · 19/06/2018 16:43

G tech every time for me . And that's after 3 Dysons.

0range99 · 19/06/2018 16:57

Roomba - it might not get into corners properly but neither would I with a normal hoover [lazy emoji]

My house is so so much cleaner since I got one as it goes for a scurry round daily, whereas when I had to lug my Dyson around it would be once a week if I was lucky.

Sahrk Liftaway. It's a beast. I love the headlamps

Onynx · 19/06/2018 18:54

Do not buy the Miele bagless. I bought mine just under a year ago, suction is excellent but the clips on the pole snapped- I should have returned it at that point but didn't- then the handle cracked and that's where my 'fun' started. Miele will absolutely not replace the broken parts, apparently only the motor is covered by warranty and as it's a 'new' vacuum it should not have broken- so somehow that is my fault and not Miele's?? They were looking for €130 for the handle alone!! So I now have a handle from my mum's old Miele but I could not get over just how terrible their customer service was.

Another vote for shark - 2 sport obsessed DS, a tradesman DH and a springer means we really give vacuum cleaners a bashing...Shark is the only one from the usual mix of brands that I would purchase again

HouseOfLynx · 19/06/2018 19:25

There were any enormous number if positive reviews for the shark on one of these threads recently but I'm disappointed with ours and hope it wasn't product placement.

Ours tips over ALL the time.

Dyson or Henry

TheMagicTorch · 20/06/2018 16:19

@HouseOfLynx mine does tend to tip over if I use the attachments with the liftaway section still attached to the main part - but if I detach the liftaway when I use the attachments it's much better, but I appreciate if you need a hand free this isn't ideal!

welshweasel · 20/06/2018 16:25

We’ve always been Dyson loyal but recently bought a shark liftaway too. Was recommended on a large Facebook group I’m on, not on here and it’s amazing. Never had an issue with it falling over either.

Lazyginger · 20/06/2018 19:36

Seems to be a shark landslide!

Cordless animal dyson

LakieLady · 20/06/2018 19:49

Another Gtech fan here. I bought mine partly because it is so light (knackered back and joints make it hard for me to lug a heavy hoover about) and I'm a complete convert. I don't even have to bend over to plug it in or wind up the flex.

Lakeland were doing a deal on the upright, the handheld and the attachments. The upright is brilliant on hard floors as well as carpets and the handheld gets used for all sorts of things, even getting crumbs out of the bed, and hoovering my winter coat (navy blue, shows every bit of fluff) before I put it away for the summer.

I'm allergic to dust and dust mites, and have been much better since I got it.

It has a headlight, too. Grin
