To call the police on these noisy bastards

Noisybastards · 18/06/2018 21:34

Neighbours appear to have invited everyone they know round for the England game.

Everyone has spilled out into the garden, bonkers style tunes blaring full blast, annoying muts barking at the top of their lungs, drunken louts screaming over one another.

I have a one year old trying to sleep, a DH up at 4am should I just put anonymous call into the police?

It's a Monday night FFS no need to act like you're in Benidorm because you're team bet an easy team.

On a side note I love footy but hate English footy culture. Most other countries celebrate with grace not like they're off to club 18-30

Op this is ridiculous. Some nights we are doing diy until 10pm as we both work full time and are extending our house. Our neighbours all with good jobs dont mind at all and we asked them for a cut off time

NataliaOsipova · 18/06/2018 22:15

Make sure your DH makes as much noise as he can when he leaves for work in the morning

This is your only answer. But it's a good one.....

PlateOfBiscuits · 18/06/2018 22:17

OP you are clearly massively stressed. Step away from mn and do whatever you need to do to chill out. No amount of getting stressed out will stop the world revolving for you and your DP.

Cabininthewoods69 · 18/06/2018 22:18

Tit for tat. Now there is some chavvy behaviour

Noisybastards · 18/06/2018 22:18

nocoolnamesleft I'm pretty sure sledgehammering doors down and children going missing isn't daily the average shift for the police.

DH does use ear plugs but the music and screaming coming into my house (even with the windows) is louder than my own tv it's pretty disruptive.

Pretty entitled attitude to have to feel you have the right to make as much noise as you want. Again if you really want to be as loud as a pub, fuck off to a pub.

The other neighbours had 3 cars worth of ppl round for the game, can hear them when I took the bin out but once back in the house no sound. Sonit it is possible to enjoy the game without being a typical En-ger-land obsessed chav.

Children get reported missing several times on an average shift.

Boredandtired · 18/06/2018 22:21

The police won't do anything, this is no longer their remit. They will tell you to contact the council. If your council is like mine, it will be a 9-5 service and the most that would be done is a letter in the post.
The cuts to services have changed how things are managed completely. We had issues with neighbours partying and waking my kids up at 1am. Nobody could or would do anything despite the call handler being able to hear and thinking that it was dreadful.

MissGiddyPants · 18/06/2018 22:21

You aren't doing yourself any favours

Lethaldrizzle · 18/06/2018 22:23

10pm is way too late to do diy!

Boredandtired · 18/06/2018 22:24

Children get reported missing all the time, but it's unlikely the vulnerable 7 yr old your thinking off. Teenagers are responsible for taking up huge amounts of police time just buggering about. Each case has to be properly recorded and responded to everytime, just in case it's untoward or serious. These cases are not publiscised because very often there's other risk factors or it's highly likely it's just a teenager messing about. But they take up loads of police time.

Arcadia · 18/06/2018 22:24

Thanks for this thread. I thought it was a draw, saw us miss that penalty, wandered off bored for a shower, then discovered via this thread that we actually won! I am now quietly celebrating with a herbal tea.

blue25 · 18/06/2018 22:24

Do you really think the police will be interested in all the households having noisy football celebrations tonight?? Completely ridiculous. Chill out and let people enjoy themselves.

FASH84 · 18/06/2018 22:25

@Noisybastards you clearly don't work in the criminal justice sector, and have no clue what policing is like daily. Don't waste their time. No crime has been committed.

Lethaldrizzle · 18/06/2018 22:26

What! You're not going to get really pissed and loud and leery

Semster · 18/06/2018 22:26

England won?!

Bobbybear10 · 18/06/2018 22:28

OP image be the neighbours had a newborn that screamed and screamed in the early hours. Imagine your DH had to get up and drive his truck with only 4 hours sleep because of the neighbours crying/screaming child.

Now realise this was actually you and your DC at one point and the people with no sleep were your neighbours.

Now suck it up buttercup and get on with calming down and getting as much sleep as you can.

Remember it works both ways and they felt with the noise from your children at all hours so I’m sure you can cope with one early(ish) evening.

Arcadia · 18/06/2018 22:28

Don't worry we probably won't win again.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/06/2018 22:29

I think the police have got far bigger things to worry about than a few guys making a racket.

melodybirds · 18/06/2018 22:30

Earplugs don't work with dogs and loud music. I think they're being too loud but I hate noise in general.

TooManyPaws · 18/06/2018 22:31

Actually, the level of acceptable noise according to law varies according to the time of day, not simply an 1100 cutoff. Evenings are expected to be quieter than the working day.

Enforcement depends on your area. Some councils have noise enforcement teams which work into the early hours; they can be contacted either through the council number or through the police control room depending on the area set up.

You don't have to put up with other people's selfishness.

RunMummyRun68 · 18/06/2018 22:32

Yeah we get it. Your DH is a truck driver

melodybirds · 18/06/2018 22:32

Arcadia. Grin

RunMummyRun68 · 18/06/2018 22:32

Why are you calling your neighbours 'chavs'?

PortiaCastis · 18/06/2018 22:33

I'm astounded at your absolute rudeness towards other posters OP

snapandfartaftermartialarts · 18/06/2018 22:33

Wow aren't you a treat.
If all your neighbours are such "chavs" perhaps you should move to a more sophisticated neighbourhood 🤗
