To think you don't bring your own tea to a coffee shop

AIBU to think that you have to be a CF to ask for a teapot of boiling water and a glass as you've brought your own teabag with you in a coffee shop.
Not to drip feed, 3 of CF's friends did buy drinks.
To me this is like taking your own booze into a pub and asking them for a glass with ice for it.

I had some stuff like that when i was breastfeeding : IIRC it contained fennel which stimulates milk production

I used to regularly meet friends in a place that did vile coffee.... and I don't drink tea so i always used to take a "teabag" of something herbal to dunk, but I paid the same price as if I were drinking their tea.
This thread reminds of when a few years ago my Mum ate in a McDonald's in Prague (or somewhere else "exotic".... don't ask me why she didn't eat in a proper restaurant - I have no idea - maybe she was in a hurry) - she had a salad but asked for a bread roll to go with it.... and was mighty put out to be charged the same price for the "bun" as if it had come around a burger... but I can see the logic behind it.

Calatonia Fennel explains it, I was struggling to place the smell! But back to the point BYO lactation tea is just fine if you’re willing to pay. 😂 at your mum having a burger bun as a bread roll in McDonalds, I get their logic with the charge but I think I’d go the whole hog and get the actual burger since I was paying for it.

No definitely NOT OK; especially as she asked for a whole teapot full! Asking for extra hot water as a top up if you've paid for tea is probably ok but not this. You are running a business not a charity!

I also often just drink tap water. I used to have bottled water but then felt guilty about the plastic. So often my oh has a pint and I have tap water. Cheap date.

Utterly unreasonable.

You're sitting in their cafe so you pay for it. You're paying for the seat/windows heat/cooling.
