So basically as the title says, what things do you do to bring good karma/ positivity into your life?
Me and dh have hit a right shit storm for the past three months it includes; three pay days which were incorrect/ down at least £300,cars breaking down, ds' birthday that we couldn't afford to do anything for, major depression that were both going through, severe anxiety, no sleep due to stress, not spending any time together due to working constantly, debts mounting. You name it were experiencing it.
We need something positive otherwise we're both going to suffer a break down. I can't take anymore bad news.
And obviously positive things that don't cost money!

Nature...nature and nice weather 😊

LovelyBath77 · 18/06/2018 12:39

I like this class I do body balance, it's yoga to music.

When I was having a really bad time with depression and anxiety I brought a healing crystal pendant necklace. Blush
I know there's no scientific proof that they work, but weirdly it did relax me a bit.

I also lit an incense in my bedroom every night before I went to bed, it helped me sleep, I find them much more relaxing than candles.

I'm sorry your going through such a shit time, I hope things look up soon. Flowers

Go to your local council see if they have a debt advisor you can speak to
They’ll tell you to open another bank account which will be basic so you don’t get into overdraft and freeze your old accounts so those you owe money to don’t creep in and take they’ll be written to also explaining the accounts been frozen..Then wait for what to do next. It will give you a few weeks breathing space at least..
We are in same situation and the money advisor has been really good. We are now waitin for what happens next but we now have a little money for now until then

Also credit cards if you have any..if the debt you owe has been sold onto a creditor, whatever anyone says you are within your rights not to pay them, your contract was with the credit card company not them and the creditors paid it. so if they contact you get someone to write a worded letter saying so. Then keep all letters don’t respond don’t answer door etc..

Try to get out and walk as much as possible too.

Trinity66 · 18/06/2018 12:41

Hiking, getting out in the fresh air, it clears your head and gets the blood flowing and generally makes you happier ime

i do 3 good things.

each day you have to identify three good things that have happened that day. at the start it was really really hard, but once you get into the habit of doing it, you start looking for good things, or engineering good things to happen so you have good things to talk about in the daily reckoning.

i'm not talking big stuff. when my eldest was a baby it was stuff like "got out of the house". now when i do it, it tends to be "saw a really beautiful tree" or "smelt the rose at the front door".

the ones that seem to make life better are always free - saw a friend, chatted on the phone, went outside.

heard about it on the radio as a depression cure, and although I don't think it's a perfect remedy, i have found it useful.

Thank you for your replies, my mum bought me some anxiety oil (bless her) it's lovely but it's effects are short lived.
Regarding the debt we are already in the process with step change but it's a slow process and the letters
we get everyday from companies are frightening.
Nature is a good suggestion. Thank you

Agree with nature. Getting outside in the daylight is the most effective way to improve my mood and sleep. Gardening is quite good if you never switch off, I struggle to just sit around and 'waste time'.

Benandhollysmum · 18/06/2018 12:52

Don’t respond to letters at all keep them all. As I said creditors have already paid your debt by buying it..and you didn’t enter a contract with them so really you have no obligations to pay them. Let them come to door they not allowed to enter your property without your permission.
As long as it’s not gas electric or council tax rent/mortgage. If you are behind in any of them call them ASAP those are priority bills and they’ll help you

ohcheeseandrice · 18/06/2018 15:19

Going to go for a walk now to try and clear my head, it like my head is full of static so I'm hoping it helps

20 minutes outside every day was a figure that I read in an article about wellbeing.

I don't think it's quite that simple but for me, having a figure to work towards makes it feel manageable and I'm more likely to do it.

I often go for a walk but if not, I sit in the garden reading or having a cup of tea

I love bubble baths!

DH will listen to his favourite album. If you are on Spotify there are some pre made "mood" lists for gentle music, uplifting music etc

Doing one thing for someone else, it could be putting out some food out for the birds, making a cup of tea for a work colleague, sending a message to a friend or relative you haven't seen for a while, giving way to another driver on a busy junction, picking up a piece of rubbish in the street.
It might sound like little things but when I'm feeling really low, it helps me think I've done something to make someone's day better, however small

Yoga with Adriene on you tube is good or I like the rain on a tent videos!

LighthouseSouth · 18/06/2018 15:49

so you've got a proper plan in place for the debts? I would stick that on the wall with a countdown.

Agree about nature

also I think make sure you get a lot of stretching because you are carrying around so much physical tension.

Jessica Smith has a Youtube channel and many lovely stretching videos. this one is 20 minutes and geared for evening.
