To use plastic wine glasses / drinking glasses

I’m dyspraxic as is d.p but he’s worse . I’ve lost count of the amount of glasses he’s dropped. Not his fault but it’s annoying.
Would I be a total heathen to switch everything to plastic ? Grin

Can't you do paper party cups or 'for life' travel coffee cups? Plastic is horrid!

YANBU! My DP (not dyspraxic) broke 3/4 of my very naice glass set (wine glasses and tumblers) due to clumsiness. He now drinks from the cheap 50p ASDA glasses and I use the fancy ones myself Wink

Assuming you mean to keep rehashing and using then makes sense.

For what it’s worth, you can get some nice looking reusable plastic glasses at TK Maxx - we have a couple for picnics/BBQs, etc

When my DCs were younger I bought plastic ones as they kept breaking the glass ones. You can get ones meant for picnics and BBQs that are quite nice. Good time of year to buy them as well.

Yes use plastic ones ( assuming you mean ones you’ll wash and reuse) if it’s best for you.

Don’t use single use paper ones that is not good for the environment, such waste!

Whereisthecoffee · 15/06/2018 16:11

yay getting him own isn’t a bad idea !

I don’t mean the plastIc drinking machine type I mean like the picnic ones if I hadn’t been clear Smile

We get the nice picnic plastic cups (and plenty of the ikea little cups for the kids) - Costco normally have sets of them for about 8 quid that last well and look nice (although after repeated drops, they do still crack!).

They had plastic wine glasses once that were absolutely wonderful - looked exactly like glass, and were just beautiful (just don't let anyone get a scouring pad anywhere near them!)

I'm seriously considering those rubber mats that they have behind the bar in pubs in our kitchen, we smash so much stuff (DS1 is dyspraxic, DS2 is impatient, I'm just clumsy)

I like those hard plastic ones for picnics, we have quite a few. They don't wash well in our dishwasher though, they go opaque quickly. That's the only downside.

I got a very pretty rainbow glass from marks and Spencer I have broken dropped and knocked over soo many glasses. At least he isn't falling all over the place like my dyspraxic friend.
