To love talc

Since I had my new baby I can't get enough of using talc all over myself Grin

The belly over-hang, the under-boob, the arm-pit.... even the hair Wink

It's wonderful stuff, under rated for sure!!!

Please don’t use talc in a wet bath, I fractured my wrist after partner did so.. turns into a slippy bastard surface!

Semster · 13/06/2018 01:02

I love it. When all the stuff about cancer came up I did some research, and I'm happy to take the tiny possible added risk.

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 13/06/2018 01:24

I use "medipure" powder, from Home Bargains, and I love it. No more sweaty crevices, no more chub rub. It is FAB and it's only 99p ! GrinGrin

steff13 · 13/06/2018 01:26

Just don't breathe it in.

agnurse · 13/06/2018 04:42

It's not the best for your lungs. I believe it can build up and cause lung damage. In the absence of an infection, corn starch is a better choice. (If you have an infection, especially thrush, do NOT use corn starch. It's effectively sugar and will feed the infection, making it worse.)

WinkysTeatowel Where did you buy your Femfresh one? I cannot find it anywhere anymore and assumed they must have stopped making it.

FloofyDoof · 13/06/2018 09:50

Superdrug medicated talc is great for underboob in hot weather, stops the attractive red rash I get if I don't use it. Only about £1 a go too.

I got some amazing talc in Thailand years ago, it had a sort of menthol cooling effect. I have no idea if you can get it in the UK but I'd love some more!

I'm a gardener, in that I own a company and also do some hands-on stuff, which brings me nicely to my use of the Cussons Imperial Leather talc I took from my mum's home when I had to clear it out.

A puff of talc into disposable gloves when I'm planting absorbs the sweat and makes it easier to take off/put back on.

And is a nice reminder of my mum. I loved my mum.

WinkysTeatowel · 13/06/2018 22:05

@thenightsky Superdrug I think but it was a while ago, seems to be available online

Oldraver · 13/06/2018 22:20

Femfresh...used to be sold in Boots but I haven't seen it in a while and when I asked an assistant got a lecture on how 'it's probably been taken off the market as it was 'bad' for you, causes cancer etc. She wouldn't listen that Femfresh wasn't talc.

Anyway, Boots baby powder is also cornstarch

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 14/06/2018 14:46

The medipur powder has menthol or something similar in it Dolly

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 14/06/2018 14:57

I do love talc too but don't use it since reading about the link to ovarian cancer a good while ago. I just slap on nice moisturiser instead.

ItchySeveredFoot · 14/06/2018 15:01

I use Lush's Silky Underwear. Smells lovely and is great for preventing chub rub.

Excited101 · 14/06/2018 15:25

I use the femfresh one (it’s a talc free powder) and it’s fab for keeping a bit cleaner feeling down round my bits and pieces.

smeggyholds · 14/06/2018 21:27

Itchy what's that?

Talc free powder is available

Johnson & Johnson were found to have known about the asbestos content in the 70s and did not act on it
