Aibu to ask what this could be

Does anyone know what this could be?

It appeared on DD's head yesterday evening. She says it's itchy and hurts.

She did scratch it last night, not so much today but nursery said it was bothering her.

Took her to pharmacist, initially thought it was ringworm but quickly ruled it out after looking at some images. He gave a hayfever syrup to try and tone down itchyness and said go to doctors in a week if it hasn't cleared up.

Thanks in advance

Looks like a graze to me, I assume no reported injury?

Yoursincerely · 11/06/2018 19:16

No injury but was scratching quite bad last night so think that made it worse.

It looked more blotchy last night but does look more brown than in the picture.

Maybe it's the scratching that caused it to be worse today.

It looks a bit like a friction burn.

JustVent · 11/06/2018 19:39

It’s a graze.

Yoursincerely · 11/06/2018 19:58

So consensus is a graze. Not sure how and she said she didn't but that's 4 year olds for you. Thank you

She could have easily done it by scratching.

I often cause a graze to my shin from scratching an annoying itch that appears from no-where.

Grasslands · 11/06/2018 20:45

Bug bite?

heiheithechicken · 11/06/2018 20:48

Looks like carpet burn

DarkRosaleen · 11/06/2018 20:52

I thought impetigo, maybe.

Lucisky · 11/06/2018 20:57

Allergic reaction to a plant?

Yoursincerely · 11/06/2018 21:13

We were gardening the day before. Cutting grass and she was helping with pulling out weeds in the flower bed.

The browness is there so I guess could be early impetigo. Does that usually only appear in the one place?

If it starts going down tomorrow will assume it was a graze that she irritated by scratching.

Looks like shingles, get it checked it can cause damage to optic nerve and affect vision.

Queenie8 · 11/06/2018 21:22

Scarlet fever? My dc always get the localised rash first then the other symptoms.

JustVent · 11/06/2018 21:23

It’s not scarlet fever Hmm

Monny1 · 11/06/2018 21:28

I would try and get a doctors appointment tomorrow, just to be in the safe side.
