I haven't read all the posts because I'm much too busy and important. It I have very strong opinions about buns so I'm going to share them now whether they are relevant to the thread or not.

I nearly bought some iced buns today. But they are always disappointing. They are basically stale bread rolls with not enough jam or icing. So some mouthfuls are just stale bread. The white one said are even worse as they don't even have jam.

Just throwing this out there OP have you ever thought about trying crumpets?

Crumpets? Are you on glue?
