HI. I'm about to apply to some local charities to try and get some funding / grants for my daughter.
Should I send an e mail, type a letter, or hand write a letter?
Thanks

I would email. Hardly anyone expects a letter nowadays. Best of luck Flowers

What are the circumstances OP? Is your daughter ill?

whatatod0 · 09/06/2018 21:16

hmm, daughter has disability, we want to pay for something we can't actually afford. Don't really want to go into details, sorry. But thanks for posting.

Thanks Hollowtalk.

If it were me I would write - emails are so easy to bash off, a handwritten letter shows you’ve put the effort in to get in contact. Good luck!

NewYearNewMe18 · 09/06/2018 21:26

I would type a letter, it looks more professional.

Emails, meh, that would end up deleted, depending who was manning the in box

Thanks everyone.
So thats one vote for each option!!!

A few charities have an application form you can fill out. Have you looked on their web sites?

Butterflykissess · 09/06/2018 21:33

sorry if youve already thought of this but could you try the family fund that way its just an application form.

My friend is a teacher and have to raise money each year doing enterprise activities and asking businesses for donations. Last year, the kids wrote out letters with pictures instead of the usual school email, they received so many more donations this way.

whatatod0 · 09/06/2018 21:46

maybe I should get dd to write a letter..

Tbh most charities/trusts have forms you need to fill out? I’m not aware of those that don’t

So you need to follow their requirements- this should be available on their website

Melliegrantfirstlady · 09/06/2018 21:54

I’ve neber heard of a trust where a child’s letter was all that was required

DoneDisappeared · 09/06/2018 21:55

It depends on the charity. Does it say what they want in the website?

Thanks. I was thinking more about local parish council type funds rather than national ones. might as well try them all though. Thanks people.

Fuckwithnosensesauce · 10/06/2018 00:07
