to think that there is nothing wrong with staying in your pjs all day?

5pm, 19 weeks pregnant, worked 48 hours this week, and know I won't be able to laze around in another 20 weeks time. Trying to ease the guilt of not having done anything all day today... AIBU to think that I am perfectly justified in doing sweet FA all day and absolutely enjoying it? Pjs are not coming off until tomorrow at which point the house is getting cleaned!

Everyone needs a pj day now and then! Especially if you've had a shitty week x

FittonTower · 09/06/2018 17:06

Couldn't do it now because my kids would go nuts. I miss having a pj day now and again. Enjoy

bluemascara · 09/06/2018 17:06

Yanbu
Go for it while you can and enjoy it!!

CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:09

I'm considering cleaning my house early tomorrow morning and extending my pj day in to a pj weekend. For someone who can't sit still I feel incredibly lazy! It's wonderfully satisfying however Grin

I have to still shower and clean my teeth etc and put clean PJs on otherwise I just feel disgusting. But no there’s nothing wrong with it.

happytobemrsg · 09/06/2018 17:11

I LOVE pj days

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 09/06/2018 17:11

I stay in pyjamas unless/until I have to leave the house. Or if I’m doing cleaning I get showered and changed first. I make no apologies. Enjoy your pyjama days while you can OP.

Shutupanddance1 · 09/06/2018 17:11

Nothing wrong with it - I’m 39 weeks pregnant and the thought of finding clothes that fit Sad

Singlenotsingle · 09/06/2018 17:12

It's a well deserved treat! Thoroughly enjoyable and doesn't cost you anything! What's not to like?

CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:12

@Jimdandy oh absolutely. I don't sleep in pjs (get too hot) but teeth have been cleaned, hair has been washed, moisturised to the nines etc, just haven't got properly dressed or moved more than 5 metres in the last 3 hour (apart from 15+ toilet breaks!) - I'm watching The Bridge and am totally hooked!

CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:13

I may make this a monthly thing then before baby arrives! What ever did I feel guilty for?

OP posts:
wahhopeso · 09/06/2018 17:15

You absolutely can laze around in 20 weeks time in your pjs! I'm 39 weeks and fully intend on jammy time lasting way beyond the birth of my DC2!

WowserBowser · 09/06/2018 17:17

I'm always in PJs. I will even get back in to them after the school run. I love the newborn stage as I can just sit on my arse in my pyjamas watching telly cuddling the baby. And everyone says not to worry. As you've just had a baby.

CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:19

@wahhopeso I've never had a baby before and presumed I would be up and down changing nappies, breast feeding, dealing with crying and grumpy baby etc etc, at which point a relaxed pj day isn't so relaxed!

OP posts:
WowserBowser · 09/06/2018 17:20

Not all babies are grumpy Smile Mine just slept all the time. Prime PJ time.

Fieau · 09/06/2018 17:21

@cherrycherrypie my baby is seven weeks old and every day is a pyjama day these days.... I'm breastfeeding and he won't sleep unless held so we just snuggle on the sofa all day and watch rubbish TV Grin

CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:31

@Fieau is it magical? I'm so excited to have that. I'm only 19 weeks but can feel baby inside and out (just) and it reduced me to tears the first time I felt him/her. I've had a number of mcs so it's been a pretty rough ride. I can't imagine ever feeling guilty for having a pj day with a baby in my arms!

CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:31

Sorry, that post was a bit mulchy!

OP posts:
CherryCherryPie · 09/06/2018 17:32

@Fieau congratulations also Thanks

First few weeks with baby are all about pjs and boxsets. They can't do anything except sleep, poop and feed. You're too knackered to do anything else with them anyway. It's once they start moving that you're up and down to them constantly.

Rose459 · 09/06/2018 17:35

I’m 37 weeks and doing the same most days while on mat leave.

I can’t lie in or I feel awful but I get up, shower/ bath (put a bit of make up on) and put lounge clothes on to watch Netflix, clean and bake. I love spending time at home, when you’ve been working full time you can definitely appreciate it more. Enjoy!

vampirethriller · 09/06/2018 17:40

If I didn't have to take the dog out I'd do the same!

Fieau · 09/06/2018 17:40

@cherrycherrypie I had two miscarriages, and lost this babies twin as well, so know exactly how you feel. The first few weeks were a shock to the system and I felt so bad for finding it hard, as though because it had been such a long road to get here I should be more appreciative? But once I accepted it's OK to find it hard it's been a lot easier (if that makes any sense at all) and I just make the most of enjoying my cuddles.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! It will go by so quick and soon you'll have your baby in your arms Smile

Haberpop · 09/06/2018 17:43

Not pregnant but finished a 60 hour week, including 4 nights shifts, this morning. I am having a PJ&gin day, if other folks want to judge me then rock on.

Gottagetmoving · 09/06/2018 17:47

You are allowed to be naked all day or dress up in fancy dress if you want. You are also allowed to do sod all.
You are not allowed to feel guilty Grin
