I know this was from earlier in the week and just wondered what people thought? AIBU to think you should all fly together? Who is technically in charge of her kids? What if there is an incident on board? I see her point about it being expensive to all fly business class but I would fly economy with my kids if all together and business class if I was travelling alone or with DH only if I could afford to.

How odd. I have never liked her. Haughty woman.

SoleBizzz · 09/06/2018 11:13

"Alert me when therr is a problem". Poor cabin crew as if they haven't got enough responsibility already without also having to babysit your children. Selfish

UnderthePalms · 09/06/2018 11:14

I went off her when she was wailing on question time a few years ago about the proposed mansion tax and how it was so unfair on her inlaws in their 2 million pound house. It was during the credit crunch and all she gave a shit about.

Wearelocal · 09/06/2018 11:14

LOL has Kirstie got a new tv programme coming up? You fly WITH your kids, obviously.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 09/06/2018 11:14

I've despised her after she said if she had a daughter she'd advise her to 'crack on' and have a baby in her early twenties rather than prioritising further education and career then moaning about fertility issues later Angry

It's not uncommon for celebs to do this though. The nannies fly with the kids.

FASH84 · 09/06/2018 11:15

They are ten and eight most airlines would allow them to fly alone as long as collected at each end. So I don't see what the issue is.

Iceweasel · 09/06/2018 11:16

YABU. They are 10 and 12, plenty of kids fly as unaccompanied minors younger than that.

mimibunz · 09/06/2018 11:17

The daughter of an Earl dispensing advice on family values.

Notcontent · 09/06/2018 11:19

I completely disagree with her attitude and so do most people I think. It’s like the people who have steak but serve cheap sausages to their children.

memaymamo · 09/06/2018 11:20

My kids would love that, to be honest. A brief taste of freedom.

SaucyJack · 09/06/2018 11:21

Unless she has the best behaved pair of siblings in the whole entire world, then she's a lazy, selfish bitch.

No one wants to listen to the sounds of bickering, screechy unsupervised kids. Parent your own children.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 09/06/2018 11:21

Notcontent is that really that bad Confused

Don't know many young kids who'd appreciate a good steak tbh, they'd probably rather have the sausages.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 09/06/2018 11:21

She has had a very privileged upbringing and life style that has made her views very narrow minded and yes that word entitled

Why she is championed on her I can never quite understand her smugness is unbearable

lesemajeste · 09/06/2018 11:21

That is fucking awful. Poor kids.

I’m with her on the mansion tax though. My parents bought their house for £16k in the 80s on the salary of one teacher. It’s not their fault London property values have gone up. It would have socially cleansed some of the last few ordinary people who live in London out. They would have to sell up to one of the millionaire stockbrokers who live in their road these days, because a teachers pension does not a mansion tax pay.

PotteringAlong · 09/06/2018 11:22

It’s leaving an 11 year old alone in an enclosed space for a few hours. What’s the worst that can happen? People leave secondary school age children alone all the time and no one bats an eyelid.

crayoladreamz · 09/06/2018 11:25

YABU. I flew alone to visit grandparents at that age all the time.

Airlines OFFER a service for unaccompanied minors. The cabin staffs JOB is to look after them.

Christ people do like to slate other mothers don’t they. Their choice.

JustCallMeJones · 09/06/2018 11:27

There was a big Twitter spat about this. KA responded to some twitter comments with venom.

Tbf the dc weren’t on their own, they were sitting with their older step siblings as far as I can recall.

BitOutOfPractice · 09/06/2018 11:27

At the end of that article it says Gordon Ramsay does the same. But it seems only mothers are criticised for it.

pigsDOfly · 09/06/2018 11:28

My exh has friends that always did this when their DCs were small. They were looked after by the au pair.

I supposed it's no different from leaving your DCs on any other occasion if, like exh friends the DCs are being supervised, but I think it's a bit much to expect the cabin crew to do it.

Not sure it's something I would have done even if I could I have afforded to.

MarthasGinYard · 09/06/2018 11:28

Clearly KA doesn't care what anyone thinks about her self upgrading

Which is actually quite refreshing

Iceweasel · 09/06/2018 11:28

My child flew over 20 hours as an unaccompanied minor at age 9. He was perfectly happy to do so and just read, watched films, and slept, same as I would.

JustCallMeJones · 09/06/2018 11:29

If you find her twitter page and scroll down you can find some of the tweets.

ProustianMadeleine · 09/06/2018 11:29

It’s like the people who have steak but serve cheap sausages to their children.

OMG Shock not sausages?! Not the cheap sausages?!

Get a fucking grip.

Praisebe · 09/06/2018 11:30

If she had someone with her then fair enough all parents need a break at some point but leaving them by themselves with just the cabin crew to occasionally check on them is plain irresponsible

HarrietKettleWasHere · 09/06/2018 11:31

Just imagining asking my charges (2 and 4) how they would like their 38 day aged fillet cooked Grin
