Artificial turf turning feet black?

AIBU to think this shouldn’t be happening?

The artificial lawn was installed in January and we have been having issues with ‘blades’ of the grass coming out. They are being traipsed all through the house by DD resulting in never ending hoovering.

DD’s feet are also being turned black whenever she is out in bare feet meaning her feet need scrubbing when she comes in to bed.

Does anyone else have these problems or do we have faulty turf?

I’m just trying to establish where we stand for complaining and requesting a refund on both turf and installation costs Angry

KMoKMo.

considering the rain we’ve had this year

Rain is often pretty grimy. Specially near towns etc with high pollution levels

We had easigrass at our old house. Never cleaned it. Never made our feet dirty. Never shed any blades of grass either

I clean ours once a week at least, though we do have dogs

Mix of soapy water with a bit of zoflora works for us, then brush it through - I do bleach the brush after as well, but only due to the dogs. We were told to water it occasionally in summer too - keeps it looking realistic

Weekly cleaning here due to dogs. No shedding tho so maybe talk to your installer. Ours was fitted in January too so same age.

I just googled this exact question so although this is an old post I’d hoped fir an answer . Ours leaves the kids feet black as coal even with it being cleaned thoroughly. It’s so bad I often say don’t play on the grass !!! It’s horrendous when visitors come as I look like a nag but with white leather furniture and light carpets it’s a pain . Constantly having to scrub there feet which is every 5 mins .. did the original person who posted this get a solution it’s driving me mad !!
