Posting a little for traffic, but totally freaking out!
My 4.5 month DD has just wedged her dummy side ways in her mouth!!
She plays with her dummy as she drifts off, and if it falls out tries to put it back in, with a reasonable success rate. She self settles most nights but I sit out of sight near by until she's drifted off.
I just heard a weird noise from her like I'd never heard before, and just knew something wasn't right. She had somehow got it so it was wedging her mouth completely open! I got it out quickly turning it, but her cry was horrendous! It's taken me half an hour to calm her back down from full on sobbing. I can't see any damage to the gums. But wasn't exactly easy to see.
Annoyingly she needs the dummy to sleep but I'm now terrified of leaving her with it!
What's the difference for bigger ages? I can't see me being able to wean her off it at the moment, but really don't think I'll be able to sleep knowing it could happen again even in the snuz pod. WWYD?
