I'm sorry everyone! I am just worried if I post this on the general health I may not get response. I should've asked but didn't think!

If you didn't already know, I've been suffering from horrendous conjunctivitis in both of my eyes since Friday last week, and I've finished my drops which hasn't worked. I went to the doctors and they've now prescribed me with chloramphenicol 1% ointment. I decided to just pay for it instead of using prescription so I got it from boots.

The one I had before was 0.5% drops. Does this mean the ointment is stronger in strength? He said it's definitely bacterial as my eyes are weeping yellow fluid, they're still inflamed and red. I am really hoping and praying that this one decides to do its magic! I don't know how much more I can cope.

@Wishiwasonholiday1 not a fluke at all! Thank you once again! You've saved me before I wanted to just rip my eyes out lol they were honestly unbearable before! I know now that if my DS ever suffers from this horrendous infection, turmeric is going to be the first thing I use! X

This is really interesting in the light of the revocation of a US patent for the use of turmuic in wound healing in 1997, the Indian Government fought the patent and won on the basis that it had been widely used in India for a variety of ailments.

I've seen various articles suggesting it may have properties of being anti-Bacterial, anti-Viral, anti-Fungal, antiseptic, anti inflammatory, antioxidant.
And even that it may inhibit cancer!

OP the anti inflammatory and antibacterial suggestions would fit with your experience.

I must admit that I'm a fan of the (scientifically limited proven) benefits of spices, because of the weight of anecdotal evidence. If people have been using them for generations, there's probably a good reason!

Glad you're feeling better, even if you're a bit yellow!

That's brilliant op.
