AIBU to be concerned about DS's feet, which have barely grown in 2 years?

He is 7, pretty small (height wise) for his age, but on the charts - but we are small - and DH was small until he was about 12, then went through growth spurt and is now a respectable height.

But DC's feet haven't grown much - and I mean incrementally - in about 2 years. No big jumps at all.

Should I be worried?

I have a skewed view about growth as my DS3 is on growth hormone injections due to an abnormality in his pituitary. So he was tiny and was -4th centile when we started his injections. He had tiny amounts of growth in height and shoe size didn't change for two years. We are a very tall family though and he was truly tiny. Anyway he is 11 now and has size 6 feet and my youngest son has the same shoe size as your 7 yr old and he is 3! It sounds like you are a small family, your DS sounds perfectly healthy. So I wouldnt be worried about it, and if you are have a chat with your doctor yourself.

One of mine was size 1.5 in year 6, size 2 in year 7, then size 7 by the end of year 8! It seemed impossible, but hands and feet growth doesn't seem to follow a curve in our family. It's all or nothing.

My dd(6) has been a size 9 since nursery so more than 2 years, I'm reluctant to buy 9s just now i'm waiting on a spurt, she has about 3 pairs of size tens that were her sisters who was a size ten for about a week.

Thanks all. I might take him to the doc, I'll see. I don't think there's anything wrong with him, I just think he's small. I'm being neurotic, I think.
