To wonder if dating scan could be wrong?

Second child was due 8 days ago, I know it's perfectly normal to go overdue but I've had zero signs that baby is going to come anytime soon and today it crossed my mind if my due date could have been wrong?!

When I went for my 12 week scan we were told I was actually 16 weeks gone, which was a bit of a shock but not impossible, however that first month we ttc, I got a negative test and full on period.

Has anyone else ever thought their dating scan was inaccurate?

Thanks everyone for the replies, she arrived today ten days over but she's fit as a fiddle so who knows whether the dates were right or wrong Grin

My 3rd son was 4 weeks early according to scan dating - I'm not convinced as he was 8lb, god knows how big he'd have been if I went another 4 weeks !

GrandTheftWalrus · 06/06/2018 00:59

According to my own dates I was due on 11th Nov, the scan put me back to the 9th. She arrived on the 17th.

@Snowysky20009 she was 7lb 2

I had my 12 week scan and midwife dated me as 13 weeks 4 days. She didn’t tell me the length, but the only measurement to show up on my scan photo says 12cm (which seems huge!). Could that be right or is that a measurement of something else?! I’m now panicking!
