Is my arm incubating something?

I've been bitten by something over the last few days or so. Nothing ever bites me generally so I've no idea how I normally react to these sorts of things. Anyhow, it's super itchy, red and swollen, but also has six little blisters all around the bite, which I'm a bit confused over.

DH took one look at it and declared that I'll have spider babies coming out of it shortly, which I initially laughed at but now I'm a little worried as the blisters are 'growing' and definitely getting bigger, which is increasing the swelling.

Do I need to see someone about it or let it just do it's own thing?

Sounds like it could be infected. I had an insect bite over easter that got infected and sprouted up a number of 'blisters' in the days after. A trip to the walk in centre and a course of antibiotics sorted it out.

ive had some bad bites this week not blistered but very raised and red-thought it was gnats but maybe not?

OohMavis · 03/06/2018 21:56

That looks like ringworm. Which is a fungal infection. Will clear right up in a week!

I agree that looks like ringworm. It’s easily treated. If you have pets they can catch it or could have passed it to you (guineapigs seem particularly bad for this).

Schroedingerscatagain · 03/06/2018 22:10

I also think it looks like ringworm

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/06/2018 22:25

The comments about ringworm has almost convinced DS1 to go to the GP and have it checked out Smile. If it is and he gives it to the cats he'll be paying the vet's bills.

NoStraightEdges · 03/06/2018 22:27

Could you have been bitten by a tick?

Peaspleaselouise · 03/06/2018 22:36

@oldraver - we are north of the county but they’re prevalent all over. I was really ill with it for about 5 days - fever, nausea, etc plus joint pain all over. Doesn’t mean it’s infected though - these little blighters cause awful reactions. Have a google!
