I used to have panic attacks which I was very aware of were panic - I was on medication for it but found I no longer needed the medication a few years ago.

Every time I go to the GP (or even the hospital) now, with something PHYSICALLY wrong, they put everything down to panic attacks - even when I am calm and know that it is not a panic attack.

How can I try and get them to take me serious? It seems as though as soon as you have panic on your file they put everything down to that.

Recently, I knew I had a kidney infection and it took 5 trips to the GP and 2 phonecalls to 111 to get someone to check and treat me, as every other time I was told it was a panic attack and anxiety related symptoms. I am so frustrated and upset.

Can you change surgery? Your current GP is holding on to a past issue, to a new one is just something minor in your medical history

@FASH84 I was thinking about moving surgery, do you think they would treat it differently? Also, if I change surgery, or in general actually, am I allowed to ask for a second opinion for something that's been somewhat of on ongoing issue which was also put down to panic by the hospital?

I suffer with anxiety and when pregnant I kept passing out and felt really poorly -everyone said it was anxiety- nope, turns out I was seriously anaemic. You just have to listen to your body and keep at it.

questioninganxiety · 03/06/2018 12:24

@IHATEPeppaPig exactly - you know your own body best. I know there is something wrong, but everyone including specialists have put it down to anxiety, therefore I am at a loss of what to do Sad
