To wonder who, if anyone, actually watches Doctors?

I'm currently watching the British Soap Awards, and it's the same every year. Doctors gets nominated, it even wins a few token awards that were voted for by the panel, but I've never seen a single episode. I don't even know when it's on? Ive never heard anyone talking about it like the other soaps. The members of the public in the audience who cheer everything else always give it a mute response as well.

It's a bit of a mystery to me. Clearly someone must watch it, but who?

I would watch it if i was home for lunch in the days before iPlayer, when it was that or moneybox... But no, it's not very good. It's daytime so the plots can't be too sinister/sexy/ interesting
But then, i used to watch The Bill religiously. Wouldn't go out on Tuesday and Thursday between 8 and 8. Grin that was an unbeloved soap as well. Miss it!

How can you not have watched the show that gave the world such incredible episodes as this:

I like Doctors, it’s the only soap I watch.

Thesearmsofmine · 02/06/2018 21:16

My mum watches it, I used to watch it when I was a student.

TitsalinaBumsquat · 02/06/2018 21:18

OMG my sister told me the other day that she loved doctors. I was gobsmacked, she’s 23!!!

And the worst part - SHE WATCHES IT ON CATCH UP!!! As if anyone would waste time watching doctors on catch up. I don’t even watch it when there’s nothing else on.

It actually gives me the rage, I'm undecided as to whether it's irrational rage or not.

TopperHarley · 02/06/2018 21:19

I used to work in a GP surgery and the doctors there loved watching Doctors at lunch time

buckleten · 02/06/2018 21:22

I loved it when I was on maternity leave, now only get the occasional episode when ill so I have no idea what's going on, but would be easy to get back in to!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 02/06/2018 21:23

Ah! It's not so good now they made Zara more human. Mrs Tembe is less religious and naive.

It is quite a nice 40 minutes of innofensive, quite contrived, slightly out there story lines. Upskirting, autism, mental health, spiritualism, alcoholism, happy clappy stories, all sorts!

It used to have DIane Keen and CHristopher Timothy. I think I rmember Eric Sykes being in it!

I used to zombie out to it during the first week or so of the summer holidays. When I stopped teaching I relied on it and a few other simialr to chill out to, stop thinking, just breath to.

It's pretty easy to watch and yet covers some quite important issues, like Eastenders, but far less depressing!

nokidshere · 02/06/2018 21:32

I think it's a load of rubbish. The acting is awful and it's like a mix of comedy and serious acting so I don't really get it.

Much like Corrie used to be until it became the northern version of eastenders.

They are all so depressing and unrealistic. At least Doctors is a bit of light relief

MissCharleyP · 02/06/2018 21:37

My mum (72) watches it and records it if she’s out when it’s on.

Gemini69 · 02/06/2018 21:38

Doctors is a great wee day time Soap.... thoroughly deserved it's win Flowers

Yogagirl123 · 02/06/2018 21:42

Seen it a few times, amazed that it has won some awards, the acting isn’t the best, wouldn’t recommend it if I was being honest.

Yogafailure · 02/06/2018 21:44

Doctors is the only soap I watch. I bloody love it and it's WTF storylines. I gave up on Emmerdale, Coronation St and Eastenders decades ago. Never watched Hollyoaks thought it was for teenagers

CarrieBlue · 02/06/2018 22:00

I love it! And I record it so I can binge watch at the weekend.
