Posting here for traffic apologies

I'm exhausted my 8month old girl won't stop flipping round in her cot constantly she's in a sleep bag but hasn't helped. Can't swaddle her as she doesn't like it and think she's too big now.
She likes to sleep on her face and will relentless turn back over. I'm a first time mum and scared of SIDS as I've had it drilled into me how scary it is and that sleeping on any position apart from back is bad. Can someone plz give me a virtual slap and tell me she's going to be ok and your experiences I honestly haven't slept more than 5 hours a night for 3 weeks since this started Confused starting to go a bit nutty. Please help is it ok for her to sleep on her front ? Started off on her side but now it's always front. She can roll both ways but sometimes gets stuck and panics and screams the house down but not too often now Hmm really appreciate the help as I'm staring at her now yet again flipping onto her front WineWineWineWineWine

JustVent it’s been theorised to be a mix of factors (and I say that as someone who had my DS as a teenager) but they think poor maternal nutrition, lower levels of folic acid being taken during pregnancy, more likely to smoke or move the baby into their own room earlier, less likely to breastfeed and less likely to observe safe sleeping guidelines (such as using cot bumpers).

Another saying I had two tummy sleepers. They are fine once they are able to roll over by themselves.

@JustVent I was given one of those too, on the CONI Scheme ran by The Lullaby Trust. My Grandparents middle son died from SIDS and knowing I had that monitor from NICU really helped my Gran to relax a lot more than she had with previous DC born in the family. I did a lot of reading before agreeing to TTC with exH as I wanted to understand it as much as I could. It doesn’t make go for pleasant reading at all Sad

Both mine rolled to face down bottom up as soon as they could roll at 3 flipping months - terrified me! It yes had same advice from HV that once hey can roll and lift their head it's fine.

You could get a breathing monitor if you're particularly worried which helped for me with my second baby

Thanks so much everyone Smile really helpful info! And something I hadn't thought of! I do have a water proof sheet under her sheet so I'll be taking that off. I do also use a bumper but it's a special mesh from a company called baby dream safe or something and they can't suffocate next to it. Has to be installed correctly and very tight and checked and tightened regularly but she had to go to hospital at 6 months because she nearly broke her leg she loves sleeping with her legs against the bars and she's crazy strong and very active in her sleep so I can't remove the mesh yet but am very sure it's safe (I do religiously check it like a paranoid lunatic haha) so glad the water proof sheet was mentioned! Also surprised didn't think of it Blush
