My step-daughter is currently making her way from ‘down south’ to us here in the North East. My husband bought her ticket yesterday and it involves 3 changes. At her first change she was told that her train has been cancelled. They were putting other passengers onto busses but refused to allow her on as she has her dog with her.

They have sent her on another train to a different station and told her she can get a train to our nearest city from there. Her estimated time of arrival was 12.05am. She has now been told this train may not arrive (she will find out at 9pm). What do we do if it doesn’t? Can they legally leave her stranded?

We have just received the call to say the train has left Kings Cross! Hurrah!

Thank you for your help everyone.

I really didn’t fancy a 6 hour drive to
Stevenage and back.

Yay! Should be with your DSD in about 10 minutes now. Hope the rest of her journey runs smoothly!

being left at a station at 22.00 the other week when the connecting train was cancled got told you can claim for delay but no obligation to get me to destination. Customer service told me the same when i rang the next day

Normally they would get you a taxi but I guess they can't make taxi drivers accept having a dog in the taxi?
