Do you have them, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve experienced??

The only time I’ve ever had very lucid dreams was when I was pregnant.

The dreams felt completely real, physically and emotionally.

I dreamt my DH was leaving me and I woke him up in the middle of the night hysterical (very unlike me).

I dreamt I was attacked by a pack of wolves and I could feel the teeth as they bit me.

I dreamt someone was going to steal my children and I awoke furious and ready to do battle with anyone that dared.

They were very upsetting at the time.

I do remember dreams on waking quite often but they fade quickly. Years later I can still remember those pregnancy dreams as if they were films I’d watched.

My antidepressants give me very lucid dreams. It's a bit like living in a parallel universe at times!

I used to have lucid dreams all the time, I read an article when I was younger about it and I kind of trained myself to do it. Not every dream, but once or twice a month.

I haven’t for a while though, in fact I can’t remember any of my dreams for a while, I’ve had really bad insomnia so maybe am not asleep long enough to get into that state.

I can’t really remember specifics, but I would usually use it as a way of turning a bad dream good, or if it was a particularly horrible nightmare I could wake myself up from it.

Sometimes - less often than when I was younger. But I've rarely been able to manipulate my dreams even when I know I'm dreaming. When I was a kid I used to have a test - I would pinch myself (in the dream), and if I couldn't feel it, that was my proof that I was asleep and not awake. Sometimes this would be a relief and sometimes a huge disappointment.

I have had some weird ones.

I dreamt I crawled out of bed but I couldn't move my legs and my bones were all creaky. and I made my way to the kitchen and my step dad was standing having a cig. But he was really pale and had a dark aura. I believed I was awake but then I realised that that I could control what I was doing in the dream. But at the time I experienced intrusive thoughts so I would start to think of horrible things and I would be trapped with it.

I hate them they scare me. I would always have multiple a night and I never knew if I was awake or dreaming. They stopped when I started anti depressants for my anxiety disorder.

When I was a teenager I read about this and practiced for a week and suddenly I found myself in the field at the back of my old house with a celebrity. I turned to them and said “I can control my dream”! They said “what are you going to do in it”? I said “I’m going to fly”. I’m used to flying frequently in dreams and know how to do it (Confused) and so I did. I read that if you see white it means you’re coming out the dream and you should spin around to try and stop it so as I was flying I started to see white so I tried to spin but I was spinning out of control and I knew I had lost it and seconds later I woke up. Was very cool but it drained me and I was so tired for college that I stopped practicing.

I’ve also had that horrid thing I can’t remember the name of - the one where you think you’ve woken up but you haven’t.

Lucid dreaming means you are aware that you are dreaming in the dream, not just a vivid dream or nightmare.

I've had them all my life, but only rarely now. Flying dreams are wonderful, I've also swum under the sea and have been able to "breathe" underwater. The weirdest one was floating up out of my body and looking down at my sleeping self.

Sometimes. Once I realised it was a dream and it wasn’t a very nice oce so I kept yelling ‘wake up, wake up’ in my dream but it didn’t work and I was ‘stuck’ there until I eventually woke up.

I have these every night, sometimes good sometimes bad. But I wake up exhausted, I can control them to an extent, but I get no relief. Is there a way to switch them off?

I've looked down at my body and snapped back in again..
Ita a weird sensation feeling yourself fliay out of yourself..not sire if that's lucid or out of body

I used to have them fairly often but with them came night terrors. The lucid dreams were about flying and about sex. The flying dreams were amazing, I had to make a specific body movement to take off and then I could control everything just as if I was really flying - spectacular. The sex dreams I could control the plot until it got to penetration, that never worked!

The night terrors were awful, I was paralyzed and scared out of my wits. When I got rid of the night terrors, the lucid dreams were lost.

I have them quite often. Mostly, it's when I'm dreaming of a perilous situation, say, clinging to the edge of a cliff - I realise I'm dreaming and think 'fine, it's only a dream, I can let go' and do so. Occasionally, I have tried to control my dream by 'summoning' something nice into it, e.g. someone I fancy, in the hope of a 'romantic encounter' (ahem!) but it never works.

I lucid dream very frequently, but unfortunately, it ALWAYS comes with losing control of the dream, it turning bad, and the effort of trying to force myself to wake up.

I've learned that finding some stairs in my dream and throwing myself down them is the most effective way to leave the dream! Once threw myself down a water slide, as it was the closest thing to Grin But usually I will "wake up" in a different dream instead. The feeling of trying to force your eyelids to really open so you can escape is horrible.
