Ideas?

There's a party coming up - 4 boys birthdays together in one.

Usually I spend about £10 on presents but this time I just can't, especially as I need to buy 4 presents. That's £40 plus cards.....

Ideas for cheap but good presents for 9 year old boys?

I'd do box set of books, split them up, one each with a packet of sweets.

As an aside, I think a joint party for four is a bit naughty. You can't get much change out of a fiver for a reasonable present, then wrapping paper and a card, you're looking at minimum of £24 to attend the party. Bit unfair.

Have all four boys invited your son or was the invitation from just one boy?

My DS and friend would be delighted with a couple of packs of match attack cards and some sweets. Last year he got these bunch o balloons water balloons which were a hit too, you can get cheap ones on eBay

David Badiels Birthday Boy is £3.99 from Amazon. Add a bar of chocolate or some sweets would make a good gift.
There are some good Airfix models under £7 in Hobbycraft.
