To think most people don't talk about house prices?

I understand if you are looking to buy a house you will be interested in house prices. But whether you are renting long term or in a house you have bought, surely talking about house prices is rare? I can't remember the last time I had a conversation about this.

British people do though, a lot, even now we are 'talking' about them. It is really weird, especially those people who think that property is an investment Hmm

We live in London, and the only place I ever talk about house prices is on mumsnet!

It is an investment. Whether you like it or not.

LemonySnicket, why would you not bother with your friends from home?
I am not a 'friend from home', my London friends are mainly my university friends or old work colleagues who have turned into the same kind of bore, paying silly prices for shoe boxes, while looking down their noses at people who live outside the capital. I'll stay abroad thanks!
