to tell you that you haven’t made it to the second round of interviews.

Is it just me or it is really rude?

I took a day off work and spent money on petrol to get to the first interview. The least they could do is write to me and let me know that I haven’t been successful?

If it has happened like you say then yes v rude. Are you sure that you havent mafe it to round 2?

Yes. It doesn’t take much. Even if they have a standard email response, that is something. You don’t want to work for a company that don’t get that right. You dodged a bullet.

The interview was last Tuesday and I was told that the second round would be at the end of last week. Yesterday I emailed one of the people who interviewed me to confirm that I hadn’t been successful and to ask for some interview feedback if possible.

Nothing Hmm.

It was an Independent school and they told me they do everything to a “high standard”. Apparently not!

Yes - how much effort would it take to drop someone a line?

If you work in recruitment, have you seen this happen?

I agree, if you have made it to interview stage, then it is really rude to not contact you with an outcome.

Perhaps they have had to delay the second round of interviews for some reason, and you are still being considered?

paintinspiration · 30/05/2018 18:01

I am hoping this is the case but it feels doubtful! You never know I suppose. But then they might write to say they had been delayed?

As I understand it, it appears to be normal not to respond at all nowadays, it seems it is down to the interviewee to enquire.

Not how it was done in my day. Used to work for a large multinational, whose sales jobs were legendary....often we used to send 50-80 rejecetion before interview letters.
