to be worried about my breasts post baby?

Nearly half way through my pregnancy and my boobs have gone from a B cup to an almost DD. Still have just over 20 weeks to go and then milk coming in. Don't get me wrong I love my boobs this size, but I'm really concerned about what they'll look like when I finally stop feeding. I'm not a vanity fuelled woman and would consider myself modest, however changes like this, regardless of whether they are due to functional reasons are quite difficult to embrace. AIBU to be concerned? Do your boobs really deflate and sag as much as people try to scare you in to thinking post breast feeding?

Mine really aren’t that different and they easily tripled in size or more - I had twins and the hormones were crazy.

beingsunny · 30/05/2018 08:34

Don't worry, mine went from a DD to a G/H while BF, they say it takes a year for them to go back to normal and mine are a reasonably perky E now (well as perky as they can be at this size) Grin

stegosauruslady · 30/05/2018 08:35

Mine aren't much different from pre-babies. Getting back to a normal weight helped loads (even though it took me ages!)

Agent13 · 30/05/2018 08:39

I don’t think mine are much different now compared to before baby. I fed him for 10 months. Currently in my second pregnancy, 38 weeks, and they’ve not drastically changed. I don’t think saggy boobs is a defo for everyone!

blaabloodyblaa · 30/05/2018 08:39

Mine went from a B cup to an E cup and have stayed that way and I had my last baby 11 years ago and I'm 40. I also breast fed all of my dc a very good amount of time too.
Very perky boobs that seem to defy gravity. Best bit about my body personally.
Everyone is different though. My friend had 3 dc and every time after her milk ran dry her boobs deflated to spaniels ears. She got a boob job in the end.

AugustIsMyName · 30/05/2018 08:43

Thanks everyone.

@blaabloodyblaa you're lucky! I hope mine stay bigger but not counting on it! I love my boobs. They've always been one of my best bits. Not the end of the world if I end up with boobs like your friends', but a boob job would absolutely be on the cards if I was unhappy! (Though would rather not have to...)

Mine went much more droopy but I kinda liked them (fed up after years of being seen as “busty” and my new, sparser boobs seemed very grown up and elegant). Also my armpit fat hat disappeared!
Two years down the line and mine are pretty much back to normal (armpit fat too) although this is mainly because I’ve put on a bit of weight since I started working from home 😚

AugustIsMyName · 30/05/2018 08:51

@monkeymamma I WFH a fair bit too and concur that the weight gain is real!

Mine have but I couldn’t care less. They served (are still serving!) their purpose. Your body will change in an unbelievable way. It all just reminds me of what I did and how happy the end product makes me. To be honest I’d be more worried about some of the other changes!

Amanduh · 30/05/2018 08:54

I think it’s just luck of the draw. Most people I know it changed their boobs a lot, but some not at all.

Butterflykissess · 30/05/2018 08:54

Mine are awful now tbh. Saggy, veiny mess.

LaurieMarlow · 30/05/2018 08:54

After pregnancy and breastfeeding mine ended up slightly smaller and firmer than they began. Which was a surprise, but a welcome one (I was always a DD/E cup).

So I wouldn't worry, it's not a given.

AugustIsMyName · 30/05/2018 08:54

@DiddimusStench I'm worried about everything to be honest. It's my first pregnancy and it's all new to me! Trying to navigate myself around my new body. Haemorrhoids, itchy skin, stretch marks, headaches, sickness, backache, anaemia etc. I've not been too well the past few weeks! This question just happens to be re my boobs however, as I love them and would take some adjusting if they changed drastically.

Thanks all. Looks like some people change a lot and some don't!

Breast fed twins and boobs still perky!

TodaysMostPopular · 30/05/2018 09:00

Mine were a G they grew to a HH. They are now a F.

Saggy as an orange in a sock Sad I'm 28 btw!

Off to source a breast augmentation

Fadingmemory · 30/05/2018 09:01

Mine are AA & expanded hugely while bf. Afterwards they went right back to AA.

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 30/05/2018 09:02

I breastfed both DC for over 9 months at a time and my breasts are still lovely and perky.

Suspect it's pot luck/genetics/body shape that determine how your breasts respond to pregnancy. The only thing that really changed for me was the size of my nipples and the fact that they're Rachel-from-friends style sticky-out ones you could see from the moon. I teach Reception so have to be cautious of which bras I wear to work lest I remove a child's eye.

MaryShelley1818 · 30/05/2018 09:03

I have an almost 6mth old and breastfed him up until a couple of weeks ago. Tbh my breasts don’t look any different.
I think you change your priorities after children tbh and you might care less about the shape of your breasts than you imagine.

LoniceraJaponica · 30/05/2018 09:04

Mine never changed at all. Pre bra intervention they were an A cup all through pregnancy and breast feeding Sad

wigglybeezer · 30/05/2018 09:04

Mine did go a bit deflated after weaning babies ( incidentally, same cup sizes as you), but they gradually plumped up again, helped by a middle aged weight gain. After feeding three babies my nipples never went flat again though!

IJustLostTheGame · 30/05/2018 09:05

It's luck of the draw I think.
My friends boobs shrank to what she described as 'tennis balls in the feet of tights' and mine went back to what they were really.
I wouldn't sweat it too much. Your body changes with age anyway.

haba · 30/05/2018 09:05

I think it's down to genetics and whether you wore good bras.when young. I bf two children for 17mo each, and my breasts are the same as before DC.

Move look terrible. But they were very perky to begin with so maybe they aren't that bad in the grand scheme of things. I miss c my old beats though. They were so lovely (not to mention much more conformable).
