Will we ever find out what happened to flight MH370?

I know there have been lots of threads on this, and I just read that they have stopped the investigation today. Do you think in 100 years they will have found it? Like the Titanic? It took ages to find that. Maybe one day they will Find it :(

The only rational explanation is that the pilot diverted it with the intention it would never be found so, no, I don't think they'll ever find it.

lubeybooby · 29/05/2018 19:50

there isn't likely to be a whole thing to find. It will be in a million pieces, some of which I believe washed up already?

ShirleyPhallus · 29/05/2018 19:51

I really hope so, for the sake of the families. Must be so hard to never know.

MizCracker · 29/05/2018 19:56

I'm guessing that the majority of the fuselage will be intact at the bottom of the sea somewhere. I think it might be found by accident someday. Probably too late to extract data from flight data and voice recorders though.

MrsDylanBlue · 29/05/2018 19:57

Apparently where they think it went down is really really deep sea water. Sad

WallisFrizz · 29/05/2018 19:58

What bear behind said. It was my vague understanding that it is now a commonly accepted fact the pilot deliberately took the plane down and tried to disguise/hide it.

I’ll try and find a link.

Unlikely that it will be found, a small aircraft in a massive expanse of ocean.

MyBeloved · 29/05/2018 20:03

Very sad situation. I hope the relatives get closure.

Just watched a three part documentary on this. Four years since the last post here and nothing has moved forward

I think the pilot took the plane down but as one investigator said, in a controlled manner so that it didn't break up and then once down it slowly sank so hardly any debris. Very hard to locate. One guy said a crash he saw had around 2 million pieces, MH370 and basically nothing!

A section of a wing washed up in Africa and they reckon they know what angle it was pointed out when it came down meaning the plane kind of coasted down instead of dived suggesting it was trying to minimize the impact and therefore very little debris

Don't forget the flight simulator they found in the pilot's house and one route that he'd flown ended in the Indian Ocean!

I think they weren't quite looking in the right place either. Interesting how the plane flew along to borders. They reckon it did that so each country wouldn't pay much attention and assume the other was monitoring it when in fact neither were

I think it will be found one day but not via a search team, more by accident

What was the documentary please?

It could well be like the plane Star Dust, that turned up after 50 and its loss was finally explained.
