to not want a puppy farm in the garage?

NDN has been breeding 3 alsations and selling the puppies. They live in a garage and are NEVER walked. They just have the garage and a teeny tiny little fenced off outside area. They bark constantly and now she informs she she's bought another "breeding bitch".
Is this actually allowed? She's not a registered breeder , she just sells them on the local facebook site .
So, are there any regulations about breeding/ selling dogs?

Report her to rspca? Not sure if they will do anything tho Angry

SummerBambinosMum · 29/05/2018 18:16

Please contact the RSPCA as soon as possible if you are concerned about the dogs welfare.

LookAtThatCritter · 29/05/2018 18:16

Report her to the police & the RSPCA please. It’s animal cruelty and a lot of the time not allowed to be sold on Facebook etc.

Madbengalmum · 29/05/2018 18:16

The poor dogs that sounds like no life. You could report to rspca

LookAtThatCritter · 29/05/2018 18:17

Or give me her Facebook details and i’ll do it myself Grin

FredSheeran · 29/05/2018 18:17

Yes, dog breeders require a licence from the council. Dob her in.

mustbemad17 · 29/05/2018 18:18

RSPCA & also HMRC. Guaranteed that she isn't declaring the income if they are stuck in the garage. The RSPCA probably won't do much but it's good to get it on record. Maybe the dog warden too if they bark a lot

vandrew4 · 29/05/2018 18:19

fred do you know if there are a minimum number of dogs where you would need a license. I'd guess she would just say they are her pets ?

There really should be stricter laws on this. Makes me angry!

CherryBlossom23 · 29/05/2018 18:20

Definitely report to a government body, there is new legislation coming in this year to tackle puppy farms

Dobbythesockelf · 29/05/2018 18:22

Report to the rspca. One of my parents neighbours was doing something similar and all the neighbours reported them. The rspca eventually came out (it took months btw) and they are no longer allowed to keep more than 2 dogs which have to be neutered and they get regular checks from the rspca. Theirs was more dogs though.

misscockerspaniel · 29/05/2018 18:26

Report her to your local council. Aside from the fact that she may well need to be registered (inspected etc), does she need permission to run a business from her house (change of use, business rates etc)?

(And I would also report her to Income Tax. But that is because I hate puppy farmers).

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/05/2018 18:29

You can also report the noise nuisance if the dogs are barking all the time. Report them to anyone you reasonably can.

RoseWhiteTips · 29/05/2018 18:29

Report.

Nooblynoo · 29/05/2018 18:31

Report it to the council, local papers, police, rspca - puppy farming is vile. Is their house privately owned?

rosamacrose · 29/05/2018 18:32

I think that if you sell puppies you need a breeders licence. I don't think there's a minimum number of adult dogs.

Gouldengirl9 · 29/05/2018 18:33

Our DS and wife unwittingly bought a dog from a puppy farm, he doesn't have health problems but is very hyper. It was a friends son so they weren't suspicious. The breeder was reported by lots of people and after a long investigation is currently serving 5 years in prison.
Please phone RSPCA as these sort of farms need stopping.

ToadOfSadness · 29/05/2018 18:45

Keep evidence of the breeding and selling before you do anything else.

heiheithechicken · 29/05/2018 18:46

RSPCA and also your local council re barking for noise disturbance.

nursy1 · 29/05/2018 18:59

Years ago my ndn was selling cars out of the field he owned at the back of our houses. Constant car doors slamming, engines revving people etc. Asked him politely once or twice. No result.
The family owned a garage and when I first reported it he said he was just storing an overstock. I was just going to say take pictures and gather evidence. I did - video and photos. Eventually was stopped although he hated me and generally made our lives miserable until we moved. Definitely report to council and RSPCA.

Google her number to get the previous adds if possible
Screen shot them especially the prices and screen shot the face book pages with her name and any photos on it
If possible get any dates on it to show it’s on going and current

Report to RSPCA HMRC and DWP and if she is privately renting her landlord or housing association / council

she may or may not be claiming benefits but if she is and you provide them with good evidence they could very well be interested in paying her a visit .

and if she is privately renting her landlord or Housing association / council . They often have strict rules on how many dogs you can have in a house .

My local council i states anything more than 4 litters in a year and you require a licence but they don’t enforce it
But if you google your local council it should have it rules about breeding dogs
