I posted a few pictures on the other shopping conversation of the food I cooked as people simply refused to belive you can weekly shop for less than £100 and not just eat pasta all week

Just come back from shopping and just wanted to show you my list and weekly plan Monday is not on their because I already have the dinner we are having salmon baby roasted potatoes and squash wedges with green beans

I have 3 kids and a cat no less Sp 5 of us in total this list includes stuff for lunch as well for me and husband

I it can be done if you don’t allow grazing and make a meal plan the

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage boys. We spend about £400 a month. The only reason we can do this is because I have the time and space. There is no way I could do it all if I was working full time.

We have an allotment. For example my £1 pack of seeds will keep us in runner beans for the year. I have fruit trees, hundreds of raspberry canes and so on. I forage for blackberries, wild garlic, crab apples, etc. I live rurally in a great community so people are always offering their extra fruit, veg and eggs for free. I also have a massive chest freezer, a ladder and lots of kitchen gadgets. I make all of our cakes, bread, jams and chutney and try to make most sauces from scratch. I also shop at Aldi and Lidl. We also have a Tesco near my sons school so I pop in for their great deals. I love method cleaner and this month it is on offer in Tesco -3 for £6 I have purchased 24 bottles which will last me the year. Washing liquid was on offer last month so I got enough to last me the rest of the year.

I am very fortunate to be able to do this and I thoroughly enjoy it. BUT if I was living in a city, working full time and only had a Tesco as the main supermarket there is no way I could.
