I'm perfectly prepared to be shot down here...

I'm at a festival (not music, car- if that makes a difference.)

The weather is amazing (contrary to weather predictions.) There a chaps everywhere with there shirts off.

I'm boiling!! I dressed for the predicted weather and am wearing a thick top...

But have been told that removing my top (bikini underneath as it is comfier for me), would not be appropriate by the group I'm with.

AIBU to just say bugga to them and I may need new friends...😉?

you have a bikini top.on? so you meet rules about female nipples being covered. wheres the problem?

Lifeisabeach09 · 27/05/2018 16:14

Go for it. Why would your friends care???

CoughLaughFart · 27/05/2018 16:14

Why do you need permission from your friends?

KlutzyDraconequus · 27/05/2018 16:15

topless rights for all I say.

Jamboree05 · 27/05/2018 16:20

Topless rights for all!!! Love this!!

I think I'm just a bit more self conscious given I'm at a fairly make dominated festival and am certainly not the slimmest I've been!

You've answered your own question, OP. say bugga to them and I may need new friends

AlmostAJillSandwich · 27/05/2018 16:21

If you have the confidence to do it, sod what anyone else thinks. Being too hot is miserable.

fussychica · 27/05/2018 16:23

Tell them to take a hike, you've got a bikini top on, what's the problem?

leannejade · 27/05/2018 16:27

Is this Santa pod? I don't think wearing your bikini top in that sort of setting is inappropriate, I've heard it can get very hot near the tracks, my fiancé usually goes every year, I'll ask him after it it's something he would find weird.

ColdCottage · 27/05/2018 16:27

Do it. Why should you be hot and uncomfortable for the sake of others. You are not doing any harm or braking any rules. Just don't forget the sun cream Grin

Heratnumber7 · 27/05/2018 16:28

I don't think anyone should take their top off really. It smacks of chav to me. But if the men can, you can. #justdoit

FlamingGoat · 27/05/2018 16:28

Or you could buy a t-shirt off a stall and be more comfortable ?

Jamboree05 · 27/05/2018 16:28

@Leanne what is santapod?

OP posts:
leannejade · 27/05/2018 16:29

@Jamboree05 it's a car weekend drag racing thing that's on this weekend

negomi90 · 27/05/2018 16:29

Bikini top is fine!

Jamboree05 · 27/05/2018 16:30

I suppose my point is @flaminggoat... Why should I spend 20/30 quid (and yes they are that much) on a lighter t-shirt when others (blokes) don't have an issue?!?

OP posts:
ColdCottage · 27/05/2018 16:59

At a festival a bikini top is fine.

I don't think a man or a woman should be walking down the high street with their shirt off but at the beach, park or festival it's fine.

LockedOutOfMN · 27/05/2018 17:00

I thought you meant to topless (which is fine) not wear a bikini. That's totally expected at festivals! Your friends sound a bit prudish.

ForalltheSaints · 27/05/2018 17:09

It should not be about your age or weight. Just be accepting that if you do this, you might be photographed or shown on a big screen at some point. And be prepared to tell any men who gawp not to do so (or some comment such as 'have you never seen a woman's tits before').

Whatshallidonowpeople · 27/05/2018 17:12

Yabu for not using the correct their!

Jamboree05 · 27/05/2018 17:28

Oh bugga off whatshall

Clearly at festival.

Clearly grammar not top priority right now.

Congratulations for never making a grammatical error in your life that you feel so able to comment on others accidents. 👏👏

KlutzyDraconequus · 27/05/2018 17:33

yay let them sweater taters swing free in the breeze.. (well not free.. but free er.. is free-er a word? Grammar professional can you tell me if their is a word for free-er? they're must be a word for that situation when something is less free? their just has too bee?)

Jamboree05 · 27/05/2018 17:35
