That holiday is my idea of hell. YADNBU!!!

Omg literally can't think of anything worse. I hate big groups of overexcited adults, let alone all the kids too. In fact, I really just don't like people Hmm

HellenaHandbasket · 26/05/2018 19:21

Depends, I'll happily go out with my kids because they know how to behave and are enjoyable. The success of a group trip therefore depends on the behaviour of the other kids, and how their parents manage that.

Sometimes such things can be fun; with like minded parents/families, who are close friends.

However, often I’ve found that parents that particularly like these sorts of gatherings are the type of parents/people who ignore their kids until someone else sorts it out for them because they can’t be arsed. Which is any sane persons idea of hell.

If they do the villa thing, please do us all a favour and let us know where and when so we don't book the place next door!

ems137 · 26/05/2018 19:27

Tbh I don't think I'd want to go on a huge villa holiday even if the kids were older, let alone all under 6 😩

I have 4 children 12,10, 2 and 10 months and I actively avoid situations that are going to be too much hard work for me. With the older 2 I used to attend all sorts of park meet ups, mini festivals, fun days etc and sometimes it was a nightmare chasing after them both.

I would be getting my excuses ready for tomorrows pub meeting and the Villa idea.

Pure hell in my opinion

We do four families together for a long weekend and it’s great. But we’re all v laid back, most of them have lived together before (ex flat mates) and the kids are age 3 to 8 so enjoy playing together.
