Had an incident in Aldi this afternoon with my mom and worried i was bu as to the "Aldi ettiquite"? I had a full trolley load of shopping and my mom had some items in the front of my trolley. Whilst i was about halfway through unpacking onto the belt this burly man dumped all his stuff on the belt leaving me no room at all to finish unloading (still had half a trolley full) and walked off. So i moved his items further back to make a small space to carry on. He comes back and literally starts raging at me and im not exaggerating. How "you fucking bitch squashed my bread" ( I didnt - i picked it up and moved it not shoved back).

I looked up at him and politely said "well can you not be so rude to place your items when you can see i havent finished?" And he just raged at me saying he would " fucking make something of this etc etc... I'll sort you out" so i looked him in the eye and told him if he wasnt so ignorant there wouldnt be an issue. I was stuck, the checkout woman couldnt scan as my trolley was still half full. He was ranting obsceneties at me and my mom. The checkout woman didnt call security or anything. Ended up having to balance everything on top of each other so she could scan whilst he went on and on. Should i have moved his stuff? Should i have just left it? Imo he was the rude one to dump his stiff there?!? He was blatently trying to intimidate me. After putting up years of DV from my ex im not a meek woman anymore who will be easily intimidated. But im doubting myself now! I know.... first world problems 🙈

Exactly what Caribou said

What a bastard. Met his match though with you funsizedninja (clearly you have the right name!) so well done Star

The till-woman should definitely have called security - its what they are for. Wouldn't have looked good for Aldi if he became physically abusive and they had failed to protect you when he was an obvious threat. He should also be banned.

You’ve done eff-all wrong. This makes my shit itch. I once went into a Tesco Local - my first effing mistake - in which there were two very clear demarcations for paying; one a bank of self-checkouts, and the other a couple of manned tills. I waited at the manned tills bit, and as I approached the till, some fucking loony came charging down and accused me of queue jumping. I pointed out that the line she had joined wasn’t filtered for either/or - it was for self checkout only, while my effing was for manned checkout only. There were no fewer than three effing signs to back me up. I was becoming so incensed that I said to the woman on the till: ‘I’m not going mental, am I? I am right?’ And she sort of gave a shrug and said ‘People sort ot like, do both. They, like, do what they want.’ Which was brilliant and absolutely meaningless. At this point, I noticed a bloke in a suit, busily replenishing the lottery tickets while pretending not to hear, and said:’ PLEASE don’t tell me you’re the manager . . . ‘ and as he sullenly confirmed he was, I asked him if he didn’t think it might be politic to actually manage the effing situation. At which point he fled to the stockroom! I just abandoned my basket and stalked out. Still can’t believe how bleedin’ useless the staff were.

KittyHawke I once had a woman turn on me in the queue at H&M, I think I must have looked at her the wrong way Hmm She was throwing rubbish at me and shouting while everyone else pretended not to notice a thing. I was quite shaken and when I complained to the the till operator she told me, and I quote, “Don’t worry about it.”

I was too thrown to take it any further (and what would have been the point anyway), I just got the hell out of there!
